Elite Series

The Elite Series in Sweden kicked off today with a classic course in Blekinge (the "Pale Land") terrain. It could be a good early indicator as to who has good chances to go to the WOC this year. Blekinge terrain and the WOC terrain certainly aren't identical, but there are many similarities.

The Devil Runner was the best of the IKHP guys, with Klas Karlsson right behind. At 9th and 11th, they may have the stuff. Matti Envall also did well in the Elite 2 class.

But the women were, again, more impressive. Annette Granstedt won outright, and Anna Envall was not long after, in 5th place or thereabouts. Lena Eliasson also won D20 by a large margin.

But the path to Finland will be rough one and there is a long way to go.

This leads naturally to the question: can Spike medicate his way to a Finnish WOC slot through the use of Go-gurt? Or will modern medical doping technology be able to detect the trace amounts of Go-gurt which are surely lingering in difficult to test regions of the Spike body such as the cuticles of the little finger, and the back of the outer ear flap?

I used to spend how much to subscribe to Skogssport, look at the pictures, recognize a word or two, and try to figure out what was happening in O's homeland? News and insider dope from Swampfox and Spike - can't get any better!
