OT - Happy Easter Everyone

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News : One Thread

Today is Easter Sunday, a day which has great meaning to many in the world. Today also is a symbolic new beginning.

It is my hope and prayer that each and every one of us can begin our new beginning today. Spread peace, love, and kindness to people in your little world. Who knows, it may just catch on.

Thanks, Sheeps, you too.

(Took goodies and a card to my vet's office yesterday--as often as we see them, they're like extended family. Tiny effort, big appreciation--doesn't get any better than that.)

And Easter Greetings to everyone! Savor some good food with loved ones/friends today and take a minute to welcome spring. We are still blessed that our corner of the world is intact. Others are not as fortunate.

Meemur,

Exactly. I don't have much in the way of family where I currently live, except my son, my husband, and my mother-in-law. The MIL is a dizzy one, but I love her.

She'll join my son and I for dinner this evening, and a fun time will be had by all, good food included (I hope).

Just wish the husband could be here, soon. This is the first holiday that he has been away. I've been very lucky thus far. This year has been bad, as he was away our 1st anniversary as well. Oh well, hopefully he saved one of the 20 dozen cookies that I made for him to take for today. He better have, just to have a little taste of home. :)

20 dozen cookies???

Do we have some kind of award for that?

How about the Up Yours, Hillary award for cookie-baking?

I'm very impressed, Sheeps.

Old Git,

You should have seen me. I made them the day before he left, and I mean the day. I got a great recipe for White Chocolate Cherry cookies from a friend of mine that goes by the name of Aunt__Bee. My husband has fallen in love with them, as well as all the crews he flys with. I know my standing orders the day before he leaves.

Deployment before this one, they weren't airborne before they were all gone, and that was around 7 dozen. I say they are some cookie eating fools.

Oh well, just my little way of supporting those growing guys and gals.

Happy Tax Day!

Oh, um, er, I mean Easter!

Lovely weather here, isn't it?

[Easter Tip: If you are having an Easter egg hunt in your house or yard, make a list of where you hide all the eggs, otherwise one might not be found until after it starts to smell.]

Barefoot,

As always that is a good suggestion.

I, myself, use the colored real eggs inside the house in a basket to decorate the table. I use the plastic eggs outside, filled with treats, money, and hot wheels. (I used hot wheels that he already had, plus a couple that I had hidden back, as I didn't want to buy anything made in China - but I just looked and they are made in Thailand.)

Blessings of the season.

When are kids were grown, we had a different kind of Easter hunt. We hid the colored eggs not only inside and outside the house, but all over town as well. Once we put the colored eggs in real egg cartons and had the manager of the grocery store keep them there as one of the places for them to go to....it was sort of like a scavenger hunt, after getting the first egg...it would have a clue to where the next one may be and so on.

Sounds like fun, Maggie.

Barefoot, they loved it and really looked forward to the hunt. There would be special gift notes in some of the finds, like a dinner out or tickets to see a movie.

We would all have a big dinner at our house and yes we had deviled eggs.
