Bad day for the Mackems

Not a good day for the Mackems then? Just back from the WUSA match and trying to catch up on the results while nursing cramps in muscles I didn't even know existed.

Amazing day, and sounds like I was far better off being there than listening to the webcast today. Anyhoo, the Mackem-led team lost today. To a penalty. And he was a rather miserable get too. Never smiled, never said a word to us peons doing all their running around. I felt bad for the team, who are a great bunch, but not so bad for the coach. ;-))

Didn't get to see much of the match with all the runnign around, but the prematch festivities were incredible. I had goosebumps watching 3 skydivers come down over the stadium and land with precision. And while I usually find the national anthem to be a tedious interruption to the excitement, they really made this one special. Fireworks louder than I've ever heard followed by a bald eagle flying through the stadium. What a majestic bird. First time I've ever seen one live and would never have expected to be so close.

That sends me off to bed with a smile on my face......your Makem lady gets beat and our stinking neighbours do the same thing AT HOME against SPURS after LEADING 2-0

I hope you were wearing your Toon top Ciara.

Nope, was already changed into my uniform by the time the team showed up. After the crack security folks sent the team bus to the wrong place and made them walk half way around the stadium and through the crowd. doh!

Perhaps he was just sulking cause the bananas were left off the fruit tray. ;-)
