Is it magic?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Recently, I've been watching shows like Pokemon and Vision of Escaflowne. I'm just totally amased at them. Thier clothes almost never change. It's like they have an endless supply of shirts, gloves..ect. Take Van de Fanel for example. He wears a red lace-up shirt. Yeah, he wears that almost every episode...and when he showed his wings, didn't his shirt rip? Then how come he's wearing it again? Does Hitomi carry extra red lace-up shirts in her duffel? And in Pokemon? Misty is almost always wear that top and those shorts... I mean...wear does she change when she'd wandering all over the country with Ash and Co.? Just something that puzzled me... Maybe it is magic?

no they never change so that you'll never get confused about charactures, i mean don't you get confused watching movies with only one race when they change clothes? you get used to it because you learn to recogize the faces after a while but with cartoons it's bit harder

Methinks that all the animators are really lazy...or the fact that we fear change, no matter how inane...

Hmmmm, lazy..... That makes some sense......Get them confuse... No Mog, I think we get an idea of who is who.... Like we get to know thier attitudes faster than thier appearance...... We could tell..... No, DON'T ask me why.....You could tell DBZ char. apart, can't you?.. They all have something special to tell them apart..... No! I'm talking about thier clothes!.......Not about thier appearance!!.....Yes....... OK.........Yeah, I _could_ tell them apart..... GW chars?......Yeah, they're easy..... Duo with the braid.... Qautre's the blonde....Wufei with the ponytail.....Trowa? That hairdo.....Heero's the weirdo...No, he carries a gun everywhere..... Yes!.....Escaflowne?...Don't be crazy...O'course I could....Van en Fanel?.....No, that's Allen.....No!He's a knight..... Angel...... Yeah......What?!!!...*pulls out a gun*.....I just I'm like Heero..... I always need this thing.......BAM.....Oh,please.....No.... Alright.....Legend?..... Yeah so?....... Really.....Bam!...Stoppit!.. OK...*puts gun away*....Oh, now that,eh....OK,no gun.....Digimon?..... ..They change?......Yeah, but...... it's switching from.... No, Gaea does not have effect......Digiworld did...... Ok......Yeah, well...... er.....Bye!.......

Didnt we go through this already? Wolf, settle down lest we take the one thing you seem to crave: attention.

True.............*sighs*

I agree with Mog. I couldn't tell tell DBZ characters apart if I was new to it. They all look the same.

I have missed so much!

Yeah, you 'ave. I still won't believe that through. Couldn't you tell Piccalo(sp?) from Goku? I mean, one's green and one peach...or yellow..or what ever damn colour he is.....

Ever seen 'Patalliro!'?? Man, that can seriously bend your brain the first few times around. It uses two radically different art styles and interchanges them completely with no real warning, more as a surreal interlude. Violence takes place that also has no particular relationship to the 'reality' of the storyline. The first time I ever saw that, I think my neural circuits were trying to freeze up.

Fortunately, I got better.

Well, since Mog seems to be another one for looking into all the old posts, have you ever seen 'Pet Shop of Horrors'? Liked that one too, lots of nice creepy things going on, strange stuff. I particularly liked the flesh eating rabbits.

And 'Vampire Princess Miyu'. I've got a soft spot for Japanese horror stories. Liked the one with the marionettes...

Hey! I've seen all of those horror animes. I never could get into Vampire Princess.. though I really want too... I started it when I stopped renting anime.

The marrionite one I remember was creepy... and I can't get enough of pet shop of horrors (I liked the mermaid one.. but man..those bunnys were crazy!!!) "Don't feed the rabit" Man: "Ok! *looks at rabit* want a mint?" Rabit: *Revels teeth* Man: "awww how cute!! ^^ I'll give you two for your fang trick!" =p hehe Ok.. so maybe thats NOT how it goes.. but you get the drift ^-~

anyways, if you like horror stories check out Perfect Blue. One of the best done anime I've seen... it's like it's real and the animation looks real. It really feels like it could very easily be a hollywood film (if it was crappy it would be hollywood for sure!)
