Durst M805 Enlarger with Colour Head

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I am about to purchase a Durst M805 enlarger to use with 6x7. The spec. for the colour head states that it has "instant change, built-in light boxes for 35mm and 6x9cm". Presumably, for 6x7 I would use the 6x9 lightbox? Will this be OK?

Also, the spec. states that it is threaded for lenses up to 90mm. I thought enlarger lenses have a standard fitting? Will I be unable to use longer lenses with this enlarger?

Ed, Durst enlargers use a commom plate for all models and they can be open to fit any lens in the market. With M-805, you won't need anything longer than a 105mm, wich usually is found on the same thread as smaller ones. With 50mm lenses you'll need a recessed plate to allow focusing at closer distance. The 6x9 lightbox will be fine for 6x7 format. Great buy!
