Hi, I'm not a poodle owner but I do feed barf to my dog. BARF stands for many things. The most biologically appropriate raw foods was, I think the original meaning. It is the feeding of raw meaty bones, organs and veggies in appropriate proportions to provide a balanced, almost natural diet for your dog. It was first suggested by Dr. Ian Billinghurst in his book called "give your dog a bone". Kymythy Schultze has also written a book that's very helpful. You can do a search on Yahoo, it leads to a bunch of sites that can help you. I'm basically a beginner so this is about as helpful as I can get. There are mail lists out there, but I don't know where.
