PA: D.A.'s Rx: Ignore this agency's bill

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

Residents who may have received one of 22,000
erroneous billing statements sent out by a health-
care collection agency may disregard them or get a
refund if the bill was paid, Delaware County
District Attorney Patrick Meehan said yesterday.

. . .

Meehan said he concluded that the billing was a
mistake once investigators had spoken with Halifax's
attorney, Michael Coran of Philadelphia. Coran
attributed the bills to computer error involving
patients' insurance.
