Anyone speak Spanish? A Spanish Espanyol site I think are saying that they have information that Newcastle are after their Japanese star striker.I looked into it a bit and this player seems pretty good. Anyone in Spain fill me in on the translation?

Bobby Robson, that intends to do a revolution in the plantilla.

Should he be doing that at his age?

I asked the Editor of the site for more info, also saying that I'd heard that Espanyol were interested in Marcelino

Info about Akinori Nishizawa: http://www.servifutbol.com/spain/jugadores/cabjug4609.shtml http://www.servifutbol.com/spain/jugadores/cabjug4609e.shtml The speculation of transfer of Nishizawa to Newcastle us came directly from a person related to the Newcastle, which i contact with us to ask more for information of the player. In Spain no commentary of Marcelino's transfer to Espanyol, but the Espanyol will not be able to pay transfer since it does not have money. Excuseme for my bad english. Seems as though the 25 year old has scored 15 goals in 26 games for his Japanese club, but hasn't found the net yet for Espanyol. Could we just be after him for his commercial value? It would tie in with a tour in Japan in Pre season.

It's not surprising he found the net so many times in Japan - the standard is very poor. I don't know anything about him - but he's not a Nakata that is for certain. If he hasn't scored in Spain he will definately struggle in the EPL - he may be quick but he will get kicked all over thepitch by the big English defenders. Dean Richards for example would clobber him all day

Having said that if there was a tour to Japan I wouldn't complain!

Now why do I not believe this? Rik - are you telling stories again?

BTW - you missed the "J" off the beginnig of his name ;-)

Kegsy, are you working for the Sunday Sun? Someone there has nicked my Japanese player story, but substituted the real target Espanyol's Nishizawa, for Roma's Nakarta. "Toon Bid to land Hero of Japan" Neil Farrington (kegsy) goes on to say just how much Newcastle would make from having a Japanese player on the books. Bloody theives.

The Nakarta story is also in the NOTW so is therefore confirmed as being crap

Is it worth it? you spend minutes winding up some Spanish site editor, only for some tabloid jouro to nick your idea.

I have nothing to do with the Sunday Sun honest. But he is the kind of the player that would look good in our side and link well with Dyer. He would also add goals from Midfieild like Platt used to for England.

Maybe this is where the Sunday Sun get all their stories from.

By the way did anybody hear the Zidane, Davids and Del Piero rumnours. Apparently they are all coming to Newcastle with Hamilton leaving in part exchange.

"Akinori Nishizawa, Top Japanese striker to Join Newcastle United" Says the headline on Spain's equivilent to Sky Sports. over the weekend, unfortunetly it's been relegated , but they still go with the story that I fed them.

I posed as a Newcastle player, and then as a sky sports rechercher. The latter also promised to give them any info on Marcelino returning to Spain if we come accross any. SO, can some one come up with a convincing story and Spanish club to link Marcelino to?
