and yet another sick chick

We have Jumbo Cornish. We've lost 4 this time and now we have one that's doing strange things, like not growing and hanging it's head upside down and has weak legs. Is this contagious. He'll eat a little but he doesn't move well, I hate putting down animals.

I don't know what is wrong with him, but I'd separate him from the others as soon as possible. He is quite likely contagious, as nearly everything a chicken can get seems to be contagious. It could be botulism is he has access to maggots or decaying things, or it could be coccidiosis. Good luck.

Couple questions for you....

Is there any diarrhea?? If so, what color? Is it drinking a lot of water? Have difficulty breathing? I know his legs are weak, but is he 'uncoordinated' in any other way? If he is old enough to have a comb and wattles, what color are they?

Most chicken problems are contagious. Separate them as quick as you can.

I need to know more before I can help with a possible cause...
