hey andy...here's the deal. there's this book out there called the recognition of edgar allan poe. its a great book with tons of criticisms in it, but obscure authors, and well known ones including dostoevski, whitman, yeats, and auden. they offer a lot of insight into his verse and his poetry. they also published the infamous griswold article that defamed poe and caused many misconceptions about his life. so try to find that book in your library, there's a wealth of information in there. peace.
