Shearer: My season not over yet

"But I'm still hopeful of getting some first-team football before the end of the season."

What's wrong with the guy? He has serious injury problems and the only thing he's talking about is getting right back into the game. I can understand he wants to play but some day he must understand he cant go on playing 10 games and then be gone for ten and then play ten games again.

Rest 'til August and play a whole season for us! Ok?

Hehehe ya!

To answer the question. Yes I think he is fucking stupid.

Perhaps, but I wish his attitude would rub-off on one or two others.

YBR needs to get a grip on this situation and make Shearer understand that he will play again only when he can demonstrate that he is fully fit. Shearers determination to play again is admirable but must not take precedence over the long term good of the club.

In an ideal world AS should have been told to go under the knife in April of last year when the tendonitis was first diagnosed. If this had happened AS would have missed his Euro2000 swansong but at least we would have had a fully fit forward for the start of this season. Lack of action a year ago has deprived us of a fit Shearer for a full season. It shouldn't be allowed to happen again.

Don't like expletive insults directed at the man for wanting to do what every one of us would kill to do - pull on the b&w shirt and run out at SJP.

It really brasses me off when people get on his case for showing that he cares! Often the same people who will argue that he displays 'disinterest' and a bad attitude on the field.
As Stevo says, if some of the other comedians in the squad cared half as much, we wouldn't this morning be sitting 13th in the PL and only 5 places away from relegation fodder.

He needs managing, that's all.

Ya, but he must understand that he doesn't help the club a bit when he's injured.

I think the words you're looking for in regard to Shearer are: pride, professionalism and passion.

Blame doesn't often help, but some responsibility lies with the medical team who consistently patch up our players who then get crocked 1st time out. I'm thinking of both Alan and Carl Cort.

I think only Bad-ass has been relatively fit since his bust foot in the summer.

Can't blame our best players for wanting to play when passed fit.
