How can the Josephine County Citizens Council best communicate with the public?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : JoCoCC : One Thread

The Josephine County Citizens Council is seeking input on how we can effectively identify issues that citizens would like county government to address, and convey information about county government back to the citizens.

We would appreciate your suggestions.

(just) One thought I have is to run a blurb in the Courier and the Sneak Preview (if our meetings mesh well enough with the Sneak Preview's publication dates), announcing the existence of JCCC, what the next meeting's agenda is, perhaps minutes from the last meeting, the URL of the JCCC's homepage, and an invitation to get involved.

This invitation could tell folks that they are welcome to come to any and all meetings, to join if they want to, and are eligible, and encourage them to either call someone who's a member of JCCC (perhaps we could list contacts' names, phone #'s and/or email addresses at the JCCC website??) or to post replies to existing questions, suggestions, etc. already on the JCCC Forum page, or start a thread of their own. The purpose of this, of course would be to share information with each other, and with the County Government types.

Ok, Malcolm. I have actuated the "Categories" function. You may have to explain to everyone how it works, because I can't figure it out. I really like "Threads" better than Questions and Answers.

If anyone besides you and me ever uses this forum, we'll demonstrate both versions (Threads/Q&A), with and without Categories, and then let them decide.
