9th ground in Scotland

Spent Saturday afternoon at Pittodrie watching Aberdeen against Italy on Tay, in what in other other season would have been an end of season game, not this year.

Was staying the weekend with family at floosies parents, along with floosie and family, ooh complicated stuff !!

Grandad has access to 5 season tickets so me, Ben, floosies husband and floosies dad went.

Dundee could finish 6th if they won and Dunfermline lost at Killie. Aberdeen had nothing to play for. Large Dundee contingent, 50% of Aberdeen fans watching horses not jumping at Aintree rather than turning up to brace themselves against North Sea's best, very poor turnout.

The game was hopeless, truly hopeless, it was like watching us. Aberdeen have a young side who just have no physical presence, and no skill to compensate. Derek Whyte who was poor to average at Celtic 10 years ago is their only worthwhile defender. Outside of that they have no one, not a sole.

Dundee though are altogether more intresting. Sadly, very sadly, Cannigia was injured so their star attraction was missing. It did leave them with 4 Scots in their side, and the rest Italian/Argentinian/French mercenaries. Sara plays up front and looks a but Sir Les like in style, a nice athlete, who seems to be artificially using this to put himself about. The rest of the midfield/forwards was made up of preety (sic) ball players.

Dundee deservedly won 2-0, Aberdeen scoring with every shot on target. It was yer usual last day of season event with the 1000 or so radio-to-ear Dundee fans erupting in unison when Dunfermline went 2-1 down.

Nice to see the huge gulf in class between both English and Scottish, and between Italian mercenaries and Scottish artisans.

Aberdeen could well finish 7th or 8th and they were truly hopeless. I'd not seen a Scottish Premier game in the flesh since I saw Pierre VH demolish Hearts in 1996. Then there were a few good players on show, Saturday there were none.

If this is the average to poor level of Scottish football they have serious problems. There was no pace, no ambition, no wit, nothing. Can't see us ever needing a Scottish scout, or not one who needs to leave Glasgow anyway.

So what has caused the decline? I guess it's the mercenaries. Now there's no place for up-and-coming bairns. Jinky Jim, Kenny (when he was a mere player), Hendrie, Ure (Ian), and the rest of you. Where is your legacy?

Scotland used to be a feeding gound for English clubs (rightly or wrongly). Now it would appear, they are the laughing stock. How long will it be for English football to catch up?

Some English Clubs have already caught up - and also become laughing stocks!
