Sky Tv money

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Is it true to say that Sky Tv will be giving every premiership team £30 million , for the next three seasons? Or did I imagine reading it somewhere?

If so everyone will have huge sums to spend on players, putting the prices of sort after players through the roof.

£22 million per club Gav? Looks as though Hall wasn't dull of shit about £100m over 3 years. They are making about £10m per season, which if added to the £22 m would mean a lot of lolly for new players. Having said that we'll be competing with the lies of the hammers, Fulham and Southampton for players. I wonder just how much will the likes of Matt Jansen will be valued at ?

Suddenly all the English sides will be able to offer the silly money that Lazio and the like have been paying out for players.

The big concern should be that Man U won't have to go for Van Nistlerooy who looked like a very top tier 2 player, they can go straight for Rivaldo etc. We though should move up and be able to entice the Van Nistlerooys, if that's what Bobby wants.

We should not have to compete for Elana's or Temuris anyomre though. England will be the richest paying centre and will attract the best players. So Salas instead of Acuna ??

Rik, stop the jansen talk, with Blackburn all but promoted he will not go anywhere.

When Blackburn are promoted, I think Souness will bring in some realy big signings from overseas, to try to get thier ground full again. The likes of Jansen , Duff and Dunn could well be on their way.

He may let Jansen go but he won't come cheap. Jansen has often frustrated Souness this season by not pulling his weight until recently.

Duff could well be available, due to Mahon and Hignett at Blackburn, but he isn't in the class bracket we should be looking for, no better than Kilbane for the mackems!

Dunn will not be allowed to leave, IMHO.

Won't the teams promoted from Div One have to wait a season before they can pick up the Sky money?
