Crikey, I don't even know who's injured and who's not anymore. I'd have more chance picking a successful West Ham side. However, I'd like to suggest the following: Given
Barton, Lee, O'brien, is Hughes fit?, Griffen.
Solano, Speed, Cordone
Cort, Ameobe.

I'll copy the back and midfield of Ciara, but instead of having HumptyDumpty, Rabbit(Brer), and Duck(Daffy) up front, I'll go for Rag, Tag and Bobtail!

As for Ipswich, except Solano for Lee,

A bit early for Mr Clark's pick, so I'l have to wing it myself:

Ameobi Cort Bassedas Speed Acuna Solano Quinn O'Brien Hughes Barton Given <p>
I still think Griff should play, and not having kept a clean sheet, Hughes' position has to be in doubt. But with Andrex ('cos that's what he uses to dab 'es @rse) not even making the bench on Saturday and Gazza never playing with O'Brien, I think YBR will stick with the shambolic defence he's used for thelast 2 games.

Oh Crikey. Somebody "<P>"ed on my selection box again :-(

-- Anonymous, April 15, 2001

Well, the following team is proven to be ineffective, but seems likely to be used again.
I actually think both Griffin and Steve Caldwell are better defenders then those included. With Rob Lee apparently out injured, the midfield looks painfully weak for the challenge of Lampard, Cole and Carrick, and seems unlikely to provide any decent service to CC & Shola.
As ever the team is unbalanced, and it definitely wouldn't be my choice. However, what do I know?

Given

Barton........O'Brien........Hughes........Quinn

Solano........Acuna.........Bassedas........Speed

Cort.......Ameobi

WEll seeing as I got back online before the cut-off, caught up on the news, etc:

Given
Barton Hughes O'Brien Quinn
Solano Bassedas Speed Acuna
Cort Ameobi

I dont do this team naming malarky down to superstition.

So I'm not going to bother.

Any one thought that prediction may be a thorn in disguise??

Ah ha, Mr C. Playing my game, eh? You're a clever chappie. Turing the selection upside doon doesn't fool you. Straabeery the morra?

PS. Did you hear Gallacher's gonna play in midfield?

According to teletext,Bobby is promising to 'ring the changes',so those of you looking at an unchanged team may be stitched up. Exactly what changes he can ring though,I'm not sure. I'd go for 'our best centre-half' Dabz to start.

To be honest Screacher, I would definitely play Gallacher as without Dyer, we have no one who links play between m/f and the strikers. I'd have done this before now, as I don't think Ameobi is contributing an awful lot right now.
In fact, I proposed this in my team selection for the Bradford game - unwisely as it turned out, as BR is besotted with the "two big striker" syndrome. I've always felt this leaves us short in m/f and still do.

I'd also play Griffin at RB, irrespective of how inexperienced that leaves our back four. I'd consider bringing Dabz off the bench in the 2nd half, with a view to him possibly coming in to deal with Quinn next week. If he doesn't do that job then Steve Caldwell has to come in - we cannot possibly play the nackems with O'Brien & Hughes, but probably will.

I'm hoping to get to the Strawberry pre-game - may commit hari-kari post-game (actually want to watch the Scouse derby on telly!) See ya.
