On Saturday I watched Rushden & Diamonds versus Morecambe in the Nationwide Conference.

My mate's a Morecambe fan so I thought I'd go along and keep him company. R&D won 4-1 and I profited with getting the name of the first scorer!

Anyway, five minutes into the match two bus loads of Boston United fans turn up and the stewards let them into the away end in which I was sitting! Boston's match had been called off on Friday afternoon so what they were doing at this match is anyone's guess.

All through the match they tried to goad the R&D fans into something, trying to parade their Boston flags on the seats to the amusement of a few but not to the stewards.

The stewards shut the bar at half time which didn't seem to help! When we left after the match the police dogs had arrived and I couldn't work out why grown men would want to spend their afternoon arguing with a steward about displaying a flag. One bloke got ejected from the ground and he was still arguing away long after the final whistle.
