I have a Sony Model HCD - VP1 (Micro Hi-Fi Compnent System)which until recently will not allow me to play, and show a" No Disc" light on the machine. Further the Vcd light is not on when the switch is on. Can you please help me? I tried to clean with a cleaner but it will not turn at all just "No Disc". Thank you.

This problem occurs only when your players optical lens is dirty or faluty,if cleaaning doesn't work than you have to change the lens. Cleaning :- using a disk cleaner is useless, remove cover and use lens cleaning liquid with cotton bud to clean the lens.Please be very gentle while cleaning the lens.If this doesn't works that you have change the lens.
