Is Foot and Mouth a government conspiracy?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : U.K. Smallholders : One Thread

Who thinks Foot and Mouth is a government conspiracy? I'm not sure myself, but there's more than a few grey suits in London clapping their hands at what they see as a way of ridding themselves of the last subsidised industry in the UK. Maggie got shot of the miners - that conspiracy is not even argued against now, the shipyards are gone, the wagon works, British Steel went down the river and now it's just the farmers left.

I think it's pay back time from when farmers and hauliers practically brought the country to its knees over fuel prices.

Anyway, that's my take on it. Prove me wrong!

Hello all,

This story seems to substantiate the UK governments part in it, at least to some degree. I found the link on the Drudge Report (www.drudgereport.com). They are constantly covering the H and M situation in the UK. We here in the United States are very concerned that it will come to us too, and I feel almost certain that it will. Note that at the bottom of the story listed below, there is a link to another story that hints at a prevention method using a product called Airwave I believe. I'm not familiar with it. Good day.

Unless it is a case of black ops (ie someone else is trying to pin the blame on them), animal rights activists may be involved: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_223605.html

The other story I have seen suggests a biological warfare scenario, possibly from Iraq.
