Several city residents called local emergency and law enforcement agencies Wednesday to report seeing a flaming aircraft slowly descending in the night sky.

The aircraft turned out to be a Navy F-14 aircraft that experienced engine trouble over Greenville and landed safely at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro
