JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Violence wracked the sprawling Indonesian archipelago Saturday, as gas fields in Aceh province went up in flames and indigenous Dayak gangs threatened to kill all migrants on Borneo island.

A grenade thrown by rebels started a raging fire just after midnight at a natural gas field that had been evacuated by Exxon Mobil last month because of security worries, said regional armed forces commander Lt. Col. Suyatno.

A spokeswoman for Exxon Mobil in Jakarta, Julia Tumengkol, said the fire was extinguished after 10 hours. It was not immediately clear how much damage was done.
