I was contacted by some folks over on the Countryside forum and am in the process of setting a date for a one day get together on our farm. Possible dates include Sat, June 30th, Sun, June 17th or Sun, July 15th. Anyone in this area (look for Shelbyville on the map) or anyone willing to drive in are more than welcome to attend. We have room for a couple of tents, but there is a very nice campground about 9 miles away also, for anyone who would like to come early or stay late.

Basic (VERY basic!) plans for now include a short farm tour, yard games, craft and/or skills display, pot-luck cookout at 1pm with leftovers to be served for the evening meal (refridgeration available). Possibly a hay ride later on with old-time sing along - Pop knows Red River Valley and Home on the Range on his guitar - please someone, bring another instrument!!

Polly, if I lived closer I would love to come, but alas, I am in south east Louisiana, it's in the mid 80's already and the mosquitos (sp) are biting already.

Thanks Polly, what I mean is that I am so far away and it's not easy to get away. However, I'd be glad to send those skeeters up your way. LOL, just kidding, I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Hope a good time is had by all.
