Friday, April 6, thank god.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

Morning, y'all.

AB, Lin CHao will be the death of me, I swear. That's funny as hell. Have many people written in yet?

Where are the Sims??

Answers

Whoops! T and I both made a thread. I'll delete mine. All it said was that the Lin Chao column is perfect. I can't wait to see what kinds of emails you get.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Aw, T! I forgot the Sims, but I can do it right now. Hold on.

Only one person wrote, but I put it up late last night. I wonder, should Lin Chao write everyone back, or just answer questions when I update, on the site? OPINIONS?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Maybe that could be a case-by-case basis. Like, Lin could respond to the funny ones.

AB, did you finish Waiting? I started Part 3 last night - It's really hard to put the book down. I think that's why I'm all tired all the time.

Thanks for the link, by the way. Poor pervy Bob.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Yeah, I finished it. I could have killed poor Shuyu about a million times.

I can't put the Sims up! Lazy Joey Chao is in his room, sleeping, with the door locked. Damn it all.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I think that Joey Chao should be the zombie, then. Is there a Sim update?

I've wanted to smack both Shuyu and Lin several times.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Lazy Joey!

AB - I think you should update Lin Chao whenever you update. It might be incentive. And she could do more than once question a day. But yeah, just have her answer the funny ones. Although, if you did her say, every weekday, it would give people a reason to come back to your site every day, and it might increase your traffic.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Hee! Johanna's the L_L again!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

God DAMN, Lin Chao is the BEST EVER.

Chin-Feng wrote to her just now.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I know. I wasn't going to respond because I wanted you to be the L_L, but I couldn't resist.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Chin Feng killing Lin Chao! He so funny she no know what to do!

Keli wrote to her, too.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I'm here, y'all.

Why would Elisabeth and Rodger possibly vote for Amber last night on Suvivor? Hello?! You NEED her to switch sides next week, or one of you probably goes. Voting for her at Tribal Council might not be the best way to get that done.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Come on, Chin Feng, you have to share.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I was hoping that Chin Feng would write to Lin. Did want advice on how to be more honorable than Wang Zhizhi (I know I misspelled that)?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Shoot! He forgot to mention Wang Zhizhi (you spelled it right)!

No worry, he write back. Chin-Feng need all advice he can get now that season start and he have to wash uniforms, cut grass on field, clean stadium, make hot dog, play in game, shoot firework. He never have day off!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

And he no see pletty rady yet!

Mike - I know. And obviously it's back to tribe loyalty. Amber was an idiot because she really had all the power. Next week Colby better win immunity because he'd be who I'd get rid of if I was an Ogakor and we're now 4 to 2. I knew my man Rodger would last a long time, even if it was just by default.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Perhaps Chin-Feng should emphasize that his ancestors kick Zhizhi ancestors ass.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

See, I'd drop Elisabeth. She's the one who's still really the Kucha cheerleader, and if you vote her off you're not counting so heavily on Amber to play the game right.

But I'd make sure Rodger goes soon as well, since he'll win it all if he's one of the final two.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Or maybe I'd vote off Keith, on principle. He's getting a little too big for his britches.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I'd try and rally Tina and Amber and get them to vote for Keith. I think Elisabeth could do it. Keith IS too big for his britches. Damn though, they all look so skinny. Way more so than the last time.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Yeah, even Colby, which was surprising. He was smart to use his cash on the energy bar, though.

I liked how Keith thought he'd won immunity and flipped his bucket away, only to LOSE. That was great.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I know. I loved that. Okay, how did htey go through all that rice?? And you notice how Nick didn't help with the shelter at all? He knew he was leaving.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Yeah, he knew he had to win immunity or he was gone. And deservedly so. I think he was ready to leave. And Elisabeth isn't far behind, unless Rodger does a heck of a job catching fish.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Okay we're talking over with our Survivor mumbo jumbo. I bet AB is drowning in emails to Lin Chao. That way she ignore us!

It's a full MATH day. I think the last time this happened was back in '99.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I swear, I'm not. Only 2 people. Sadness. Nobody rove Lin Chao!

I have to go meet Master V and Albert in Dallas for lunch, for some adoption stuff. Did I tell y'all that my crazy ex is signing Mad out of his life? He is. We're very pleased. He's a loon.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

You people and your Survivor. You don't know how upset it makes me that you have even ensnared my precious Berman into your web.

Ok. I don't think I'm going to LA (which would piss pamie off to the Nth). And that may mean I don't come to JazzFest, either (which will mean I have to sleep with one eye open for fear AB and M make a special trip to Highland Park to stab me in my sleep).

But y'all, finances have become an issue. I think Chris and I are going to move in June or July (explain to me again how me and Numbah 3 are in love, somehow?), very possibly to Atlanta or Athens, and I am just broke. And I ain't got no good credick. You know what I'm sayin'? I gots savings, but they are dwindling, and I refuse to spend them away.

What y'all think?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Will the adoption be final today?? Yay!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

AB! Let's start planning now for the Mad Mad Chao Party!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Gaah! Athens, Georgia??! That's the next best thing to Atlanta!!

Allison, y'all know that there's a guest room in Not Smyrna with you and the MOC's name in it, don't you? I'll cook a whole lot, and everything.

I'm not going to Jazz Fest, either. I'll be the other girl with one eye open. But, if y'all want to come to Atlanta and look around here the first weekend or May, it will be Music Midtown.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I know! Mad Mad Chao Party very soon!

No, T, it's not final today, but will be in a couple weeks. It's been such a long process I don't even know what to do with myself.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Oh, Allison, y'all must move to Atlanta. That makes me happy that you're going with him. Super, super duper. Did he ever hear from MN or Emory?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Oh my god, Allison, did you know that you just made my morning? The only thing that would make me happier would be news that Chin-Feng was coming to the Braves.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

What about Wang Zhizhi signing with the Hawks. Where would that rate?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Yeah, he got the shaft from MN. He still hasn't heard from Emory.

Y'all should have heard the sad voice I put on when he told me about Minnesota. I mean, I was disappointed for him, because I know he feels like a jag for getting turned down by these places, but damn, it's hard to get in, yo!

Anyway, Atlanta and Athens are both high on the list of possibilities. I feel they are probably numbers 1 and 2, respectively. As is Charlottesville, VA, which means we would be near you, Berman. Don't try to act like you're not excited about THAT!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

It's not that near me. And it's the University of Virginia. Yuck.

But your first parking ticket there is free.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Chris always says that he would move to Charlottesvile in a heartbeat - we're going to take a trip there this summer, actually. He feels that Atlanta needs him, though, as there are more corrupt policitians here who need him to put them in jail.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I'm going to run to lunch, y'all.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I swear y'all, Chris A. is a superhero. I KNOW he has underoos.

AB - congrats about the adoption. Yay for Madeline Chao!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Oooo, H was the L_L again!

Berman, for goodness sake. When are you going to update?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

It's my cross.

I know, Mike! Sheesh. How you expect to be winning awards with that kind of slackassity?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Y'all are doing this to me on purpose. Jags.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Will y'all RELAX. If I can FTP from here, I'll have two new ones shortly.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I can personally attest to Chris A.'s lack of Underoos. If he did have a pair, however, they would certainly have Ronald Reagan's face on them. Bless his heart.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

What? Ew. Gross. No Gipper on underwear. Underoos never have faces, they're the uniform. Obviously. And you can buy grown-up ones at Urban Outfitters. Oh yes, you can.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

YOU CAN?!?! Do they have Wonder Woman?!?!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Yup. My friend Sara has a pair. They're more like pjs, because they're pants, but they have a tank and panties set that is Wonder Woman like.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

How about the Wonder Twins?

Y'all might have to wait until later on the update. I'd have to change this guys FTP settings to make the upload, and then I'd be outing myself for the office to see.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Speaking of superheroes, wasn't someone asking what other television Dierdre Hall had done, besides Days and Our House?

She was on Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. She was Electra Woman, giving gay men everywhere a great idea for a Halloween costume.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Oh, and it's sunny here. FINALLY. A nice, dogwood-y spring day. The Dogwood Festival is this weekend, actually. Oh, and did you know that Francine Reed plays here a few times a week? It's true. You could be a groupie.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Oh, y'all, why do I have to be the L_L?

Are there Sims yet?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Sorry. Big long conversation here on why rich people should or should not pay more taxes than middle-class folk.

Wasn't ElectraWoman and DynaGirl a Sid and Mary Kroft production? Like Sigmund the Sea Monster?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

It certainly was.

The Krofft puppets weird me the hell out.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I have updated.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

That sound was us rushing off to bermanation.com

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Mike makes me laugh.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

Thanks!

I'll probably update once more before I go, but not until right before quitting time. I actually have a bunch of half-written ones in the hopper, so I should be the updating machine next week.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

You said hopper.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

You know, Mike, if you were to say, oh, I don't know, join my notify list, I'll let you know when I update.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

T - weren't the honorable readers owed some photos? How many ya gots now?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

It ain't my fault you hide that link at the bottom of your entry so I never see it.

I signed up. I'm setting up one tomorrow, I think. Why not?

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

I'll move the notify list to right below the entry, then, and I'll see if I get any more than my current total of four. Four, y'all. I'm pathetic. AB, Hannah, The Other Hannah, and Mike.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

But that's quadruple what you had earlier in the week. Look at it that way.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

T, I promise I'll sign up when I get home and have access to your site.

Berman, I read your updates. Very entertaining. The link on the first one to the second one does not work, however.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

You know what I hate? When you get up to go to the bathroom and you get distracted and start talking to people and then you come back to your desk and you remember why you got up in the first place.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

On that L_L note, I'm off. We got let out early. Look for a special mommy's birthday entry tomorrow.

Have fabruous weekends.

Rove!

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

It's Miss Judy's birthday? I'll have to call. Can I tell her that she's fab?

I updated and notified.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

And I got the notification. Ooooooooooooh.

-- Anonymous, April 06, 2001

The pictures came out great, T!
