Another LabelWhen wiring, rewiring, or extending existing wiring, the electrical boxes are placed and cables are roughed in. The job is finished after the walls are closed up. Remembering where the wires go can be a challenge and they can't be traced easily because the walls are closed up. There are many methods for labeling the cables; here's a good one. Cut a short length (2") of cable and pull the wires out, leaving the jacket. Label the jacket with a marker and then slide the labeled jacket over the appropriate wires in the box. When you come back to finish up there will be no guessing.
