Morning, y'all. Will today be another An Beiless day? I hope not!

Answers

Naw. I'm here. I'm working on my Lynn Chao Advice Column. Yippee!

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Is that for your site?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Yeah. I need a scanner more than a toothless old man needs a tooth factory.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

You can take the pictures to Wolf and they'll scan them for you - it's pretty cheap.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Really? T, you are genius! I will check that out today. Somehow, taking pictures of pictures with the digital camera just isn't working out.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Check out staples.com and bestbuy.com. Usually they have rebates the stores don't. I got my scanner for $45. I'm sure this doesn't help you today, however.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

It might. Maybe I order scanner today. Maybe I just go to Staples, take one. Hmph.

Maybe Vince Chao kirr me for buy unnecessary equipment, all to fix my internet lovah website.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

But you bring honah to famirly with website. You make Mother Chao big stal!

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Yes! Honah to famiry!

Staples has one for $80 with a $30 rebate. Pretty good deal.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

See, and a scanner would be good to have - you can scan photos of Mad and Ally McDog. And there would be countless benefits to Hardlucy.

Joh, I don't think it's a coincidence that the best picture of me from Spain is the one where I'm wearing my Burberry AND Tio Pepe is watching over me.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Ladies!

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Arrison!

T - that's no coincidence. That's the power of Tio. I framed the cutest picture of us Sara took on the bus. We both have on our Burberry.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Oh - could you scan it and email it to me?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Sure, I'll do it this weekend.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Have y'all seen the "Is Pamie Selling Out?" or whatever, thread? Clazy.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

What? On her forum? Stupid.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

WHAT? Where is THAT?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Jesus. At least there were thoughtful responses, not just like "jerk!"

What an ass.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Interesting.

I don't think the quality of her writing has slipped at all. The quality of the forum, though, has taken a nosedive. Too many padders, and too many promiscuous twelve-year-olds. The sell-out conversation is about one of the most interesting ones that's been there in a while.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

That's the same guy who keeps starting new threads to pimp his suckass "poems." Whatever.

Y'all go look at Meredith's website. It's up now. Pretty cool, but maybe a little too much Flash animation.

I hope I do that code right. I always forget how.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

See? Dammit. www.meredithpardue.com

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Isn't he also the one who's a Published Author and if you ahve to read books on writing, you shouldn't be a writer?

What's Meredith's url?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Sweet! I just got a hit from the Senate!

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Well, I had to dole out some smack. I mean, I'm all for open discussion but "Has the rot set in?" Come on.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

The "peeing on the furniture" bit was classic. You're a genius, Allison Lowe.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I like all the colored squares and stuff. She's an artist, it works. Is she going to be examples of her work up?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

You called him an adolescent monkey. Heh.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

That's sort of what I was talking about. There ARE examples, but you have to run your mouse over it forever to find it. There are three words at the top right: hashai, barefoot, and something else. Those are three of her series. If you click on them, they'll take you to the paintings.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

oh, couldn't find them. I just saw her gallery representation and her exhibit history.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

T - I thougth the same thing when I saw the Pepsi commercial for the first time and it irks me. I doubt Bob Dole knew it would come out looking like that when he made it.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

See, I hope so, for his sake. Chris thinks it's funny as hell, but I just think it's gross.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

It's disturbing.

AB - any new Sims activity?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Yes! There's been more killin'. Somebody else here is a zombie, and I ain't sayin' who.

But I'll post pictures today, probably.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Did we kill Mike because he was all mean?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I'll be AB just let me die since I seem to have been so high maintenance. She wouldn't ever let me go to the bathroom, so I probably died from septic shock.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

"bet," I meant to say.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Either that or you slapped Jen again and she killed you.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Wouldn't LET you? You wouldn't go when I asked you to, Little Miss Incontinent!

And no, we didn't kill Mike. Yet. But we all want to, because he's just such a little bitch.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

He's STILL a little bitch? Shit.

Oh, I hope I'm not the zombie.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

You know who I wish I could have as a Sim? Mr. T. Mr. T and Miss Cleo. They would have the house of loooooove.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Why can't you? I love Mr. T. I pity the fool who doesn't make Mr. T a sim.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

All right. I have to bitch about something. And it's dumb and unreasonable - I already know that - but I'm going to just rant it out here.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Get it out, girl.

I pity the fool who doesn't rant on this here Greenspun.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Bring it, baby.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

OK. Chris is going to LA for this history conference right? And, I'm going, too, because he's going and to see Pam and Eric and everything but... y'all... I don't really want to go.

I mean, I've never been to LA, so I should go and have a good time, and I really want to see Pam and Eric and Ray and everybody, sure. But, I think I'm a little frustrated that I've bene traveling SO MUCH this year and it has cost me SOOOOO MUCH money, and most of it has been on someone else's agenda.

Now. I know it's been my decision to go wherever I've gone. I didn't have to drive a million times to Austin and San Antonio and fly to Vegas and wherever else - I wanted to do all those things. And I want to go to LA and see my friends and be with Chris, yeah.

But I'm sick of it, or something. My ticket is going to cost me almost $300. And see, I was going to sugarmama Chris to New Orleans for graduation, so it's not even really the money. It's just that I don't want to go to LA and run around seeing the sites and coordinating meeting times, and making cell phone calls, and dealing with the Pam/Eric drama, and trying to hook up with my friend Dan who will happen to be there for an LA film festival, and all of that shit.

I want a vacation where I'm actually on vacation. I'm not 21 anymore, I guess is the problem, and I want to go somewhere and walk from my hotel wherever I'm going and sit and listen to music and eat and drink and go back to the hotel and have sex and go to sleep. I mean, is it too much to ask?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Could you and Chris take a day or two in LA just for the two of you? One day where the call phone are off, it's just y'all being tourists doing whatever you want to, and anyone who wants to see you or go out with you, and any sights that want you to see them will jst need to suck it the hell up?

Does Dan live in Dallas? If so, then you don't need to see him in LA. Pam/Eric drama? Tell whoever's brinigng it up to suck it up - you're on vacation. Are seeing the sights on this trip THAT important? It's not like it's the only time in your life you'll ever be in LA, and you certainly shouldn't treat it like it will be.

Like, when we were in Spain, there was a ton that I wanted to do, but just couldn't because of time contstraints. I didn't beat myself up over it - that's a waste of time. I just told myself that this wouldn't be my last time in Europe, for sure, and I could see them the next time I was there.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

And to respond to some things above in the thread here:

1. You can get a scanner for fifty bucks? I had no idea. I will have to partake of that deal.

2. I really like Meredith's site. Whoever did it, did a great job. It's so artsy, it's confusing. I like it.

That would be nice, but you must realize that seeing Eric will be the default setting. The thought of Chris telling him "You know, me and Al are just going to hang out tonight, here, in your town, by ourselves..." I mean, it's so foreign to me - it would NEVER happen.

I seriously can't tolerate the idea that Eric might think I whipped Chris into it, anyway, or that Chris would do that for me when he'd rather see Eric.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Okay. What is the purpose of this trip? Is it a conference? And isn't Eric in a play, or something, that keeps him busy at night? MAybe y'all could say, "Hey, Eric, we're going to hang out for a little while and grab dinner - how about we meet up after that?"

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Here is the real question: Why does Eric have to be a little bitch?

Just kidding. Sort of. There's really nothing you can do, then, if you are going to feel like you're stepping on toes, right? Which I really don't think you would be if you did what T said, the meeting up later part. Then you could sit and do it and stuff, and meet up later with the peeps.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Well, since Chris is getting there before you, he and Eric can get their lovefest out of the way. Y'all are staying in a hotel so you see him when you see him. And the play thing is true. Y'all can do dinner or whatever else you want and meet up with him later. Eric might be Chris' pretend boyfriend. But Chris is your real boyfriend and I think he'd default to you no matter what. Just give him a chance to do so.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I completely agree.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

No no, Eric's not really a bitch - I'm just saying I wouldn't want him to THINK I was trying to keep Chris to myself. I'm not saying that he would ever actually SAY that to Chris. No. Eric is thrilled that me and Chris are together, from what he's told me.

Oh, y'all. I am clearly a nutbird. But don't worry about me. My constant worries about not seeming manipulative and needy and selfish, often make me push things down until they bubble out and make me sound sort of crazy.

The purpose of the trip is for the conference, but I know Chris wouldn't have gone to the stupid thing if it hadn't been in LA. You know what I mean? And I don't want to seem like this hanger-on girlfriend, following him around and trying to horn in on his time with his friends.

Bah. I'm just tired, yo. That's all.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

But they're your friends too. They love you. Chris loves you. Lots. That's all that matters.

And MATH loves you. Lots. So what's you gots to be worrying bout?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

You're right.

It's all good.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Okay, that Black Conrad guy is just scary.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

AB - how's the LC column?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Grr. L_L again!

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I'm back and I feel much better. I went to the store and bought a bunch of candy for the people in my office, who I am constantly ganking snacks off of. I bought so much candy, in fact, it would probably make Mad Mad's head spin.

I came back to the farm and doled it out. Everyone will have diabetes by the end of the day.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I would like a peanut butter cup, or some ice cream. There's a Ben & Jerry's nearby - they have peanut butter cup ice cream. It would be good for me.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

You know what else I bought that would also be good for you? The current Martha Stewart Weddings issue. I got it just because. And it's lovely.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Oh, I want to look at it!

My only beef with Martha is that she assumes that her readers are all Northerners who have sit-down receptions. She never has any good buffet tips.

Her cakes are AMAZING, though. I love them. Chris' sister had a Martha cake.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

T - Laura Rooney's buffet was lovely. Her whole wedding was quite lovely, actually. Night weddings are so wonderful. Holy Name is so gorgeous at night.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Al - you know how on site meter you can click on detail and then click on the number next to the IP address or whatever, adn it tells you their entry and exit page? Do you know if there's a way to see which pages they viewed?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I just ate some ice cream. It was very good.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I think pamie's response on the rot thread was perfect.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I crown myself L_L of the day.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Hey ... I'm in. Don't know if my mean SIMS self is in yet, though.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Mike!

Apparently, your Sim Self is still being a little beyotch.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

See, I'm not the King of the Jags... my SIMS self is.

But you have to admit, the pipe is pretty cool.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I'm back.

M! You pipe-smoking meanie! What is UP?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I will admit nothing of the sort.

Where's AB?? Did I ever get any neighbor loving? I want Sims pictures! Please.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Not much. I'm in for a few hours (meeting at six), but am 10-6 tomorrow and the a.m. guy all next week.

Oh, but a bunch of my friends and former co-workers, who left last year for an internet startup, all got laid off this week. One of them just bought a house.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Oh, man, that sucks. That's too bad.

I am so sleepy. I have a high-backed chair, though, and my back is to the door. I wonder if anyone would notice if I dozed for a minute?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Nah. Nap away.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Woman, aren't you off in like 5 minutes?

All the lay-offs are scary, but at least they get severence.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I have a pile of work to do. I'm actually leaving around 6:30 tonight - I'm meeting my old boss for dinner. Chris is heading to the Braves game.

Goddamn, I hate this lousy weather.

Springtime in Atlanta is like being six feet below, I swear.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I don't know if they do ... the company shut its doors.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

That's awful. I know that when you take out a mortgage, it's common to buy mortgage insurance to hlp you if you're suddenly unemployed. Hopefully your friend has something similar.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

holy crap, someone just linked to me from nakedsometimes and they had 52 page views.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Hey guys! I'm off.

I'm really interested in doing the portal. Are y'all? I'd create it adn all that good nonsense, if y'all want, or we could do it as a team since we all have dreamweaver, whatever. Are we still interested? SPC?

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Sweet. I've been getting a lot of hits from The Other Hannah.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

I'm here! Are y'all all gone now? I've been taking pictures of my paintings. I can't let that Meredith one-up me, you know.

Jealousy, table for one?

I'll be posting the Sims pictures tonight, when I update.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Oh, AB, I love you. I can't wait for the new Sims. Unless I'm the Zombie, which would make me cry.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

T, just remember: No matter what happens, we still love you.

Not that you're the zombie or anything.

OH! Also, I found a Mr. T Sim, y'all. It is so on.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Oh, dude! I figured that somewhere out there, there's a Mt. T Sim. There has to be, you know?

Maybe Sim Mr. T will finally give Sim T some long-awaited loving.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Or maybe Sim Mr. T will kick Sim Mike in the ass.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

Sim Mike could kick the entre A-Team's asses, let alone Mr. T by himself.

-- Anonymous, April 05, 2001

uh huh.
