The jury's out

According to my Auntie:

Summing up after the nine-week trial at Hull Crown Court, Mr Justice Poole, warned the jury of the possibility that witnesses may have mistakenly identified the two footballers as having been at the scene of the attack because of the huge publicity surrounding their arrests.

He said: "Do not rely on any identification of them by any witnesses that you believe may have been tainted by such publicity.

"It's possible for an honest witness to make a mistaken identification. There has been a number of wrong convictions in the past."

Leeds United defender Michael Duberry, 25, of Leeds, Mr Woodgate, Mr Clifford and Mr Caveney also deny conspiracy to pervert the course of justice after the attack.

So, how much will that "guide" the jury in their deliberations?

I suspect that tooth imprints that match those on what was left of the victims cheeks may well implicate one of the defendants

Interesting that Bowyer played against Deportivo tonight but Woodgate wasn't even on the bench. It doesn't seem as though they expect Bowyer to be getting measured up for pinstripes tomorrow, but Woodgate...........

That's been my reading of things since this started Clarky. Woodgate will go down, Bowyer will be OK. Should we offer Woody a contracy?

Shame Ian Harte wasn't one of the bad boys, he was terrific last night.

If we were offered Harte and Bridges for Dyer, would it bew a good deal?

Dubbery, Woodgate, Clifford and Caveney not guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justic....

bollox if you ask me....there's no doubt they lied!

but what if it just means the jury have complete confidence that Duberry was telling the truth, then Woodgate has a problem.
