It also helps to put commercial mats near the front and back doors. Thumping anyone who doesn't use the mats or remove his or her muddy shoes before entering is also a great proactive cleaning technique.

Pet made an OOPSIE on the carpet? Don't use commercial carpet cleaning solutions, as it may set the stain and the smell in. That is what I learned from some research off the web when I got the beagle. Use warm water, vinegar, and amonia. Seems to do the trick.

Sheeple, sometimes, if it is a fresh Peepee spot, towel up moisture and sprinkle table salt on it....let dry, odor gone!!!!

Sar,

If she has another accident and it's fresh, I'll try the salt. When she used to have her accidents, it was in the middle of the night, and I'd find the cold puddle when I was letting her out in the morning.

Beagles have a hard time developing their bladder control, but we love her anyway. Thank goodness she is 3 years old now. :)
