It's because USA.Net (and probably other e-mail providers) does not recognize more than 9 blind copes. I have to send via bcc so that your e-mail address isn't plastered all over everywhere. Thing is, USA.Net does NOT tell you it's not gonna have anything to do with more than 9 bccs. It just goes on its merry way. You think the mail has been sent and go on your merry way.

But--lo and behold! Your mailbox starts filling up with complaints about not being able to get into the forum. So you sit there and send out the passwords again, falling asleep halfway through cos you're an old git. You wake up, check the box and there are MORE complaints. Aaaaargh! By trial and error, you discover that only nine bccs at a time are permitted.

So that's why you didn't get your new password until just now.
