INFORMATION ABOUT E-BUSINESS...?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : What keeps you up at night? : One Thread

I want to learn more about e-Business and e-Commerce and how it's changing the way business is done (both globablly and locally). I'm going to be graduating next month with a B.Sc, so I don't have any academic training in this area and I don't know where to start looking for information (more specifically, it's hard to sift through the mass of business/commerce literature that's around).

If anyone who is well versed in this subject could suggest some books, magazines, or websites that would be useful for a beginner like myself, then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Conrad, I hope you will find Fast Company's stories about e-commerce useful: http://www.fastcompany.com/online/resources/ecommerce.html

Conrad, I find some of the online CRM forums quite useful - try: http://www.crm-forum.com it's CRM specific, but most companies that are present in this market will support e-business / e-commerce strategies and produce white- papers about it. Dorothea

hi Conrad,

there are several resources available online that will help you understand the basics of E-business and e-commerce and its implications in business. Fast company is of course the first and foremost. It is very informative and useful.

there is another magazine called darwin magazine at www.darwinmag.com which has tutorials on every aspect of e-business and e-commerce.

Another good magazine is line56 at www.line56.com which has great information as well as case studies.

As far as books..there are 2 that have caught my eye..one is called e-business 2.0 by addison wesley. there is another great book called e-commerce: business, technology, ethics by addison wesley. This second book is just awesome. the best i have read in a while.

There is also IBM at www.ibm.com/ebusiness with 20,000 successful e- business implementaions they have lots of tutorials and case studies and articles.

hope this helps!! ashish
