greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

It's Tuesday. It's thundering. Thunda is a good hooker name. They interviewed a transvestive hooker named Thunda in the New York Times this past Sunday.

I think we're definitely on for MerleFest. Yay!

Cool, y'all will have so much fun.

Today is a crappy day.

Crappy weather, or crappy bad?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

T, why must you live my dream and go to Merlefest while I have to go to stinking LA? Why, T? Why? Will you tell Dolly that I'd much rather be with her?

Sigh. No. She won't understand.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

I think Dlooy would understand, Al. I woud sit down with her and explain that while her number one fan Allison would really rather be in Wilkesboro than stinky LA (and in all seriousness, I'd pick Wilkesboro over LA any day), she had to go to LA. And I'd explain that you had to go to LA for love. I'm sure Dolly can relate - I'm sure that during her life, she's been to plenty of places that she'd otherwise not visit for the sake of love. Or money, at least. So, Allison, you go to LA for love. Dolly will understand, and she may even write a song about it.

Al - so you're going? Yay! Y'all will have so much fun.

It's crappy because it just is one of those days, you know? I want to pull my quilt over my head and lay in the dark.

I just wish it wasn't so gray outside. And I am definitely tired. I slept like a rock this morning - I didn't hear Chris in the shower, the alarm didn't phase me - nothing.

I think I'll head to lunch soon. I need to go to the bank and drop a skirt off for mending and visit my good friend Sally Beauty Supply.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Oh yes, Melissa and I visited her on Saturday and I got shampoo by TIGI that smells like OJ.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Couple things:

I get quite a few links from our MATH collab, which makes me think a lot of people are still reading it, so that's a good thing.

Also: I'm ready to put the portal into action. I can take care of registering/hosting etc. Do y'all still like SPC?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Morning!

H, is that shampoo bright orange? We have that! It does smell like OJ.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Yes! It's called mega-vitiman or something. I like it.

How's Ally McDog?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Oh, also. Jen is going to nominate the MATH collab.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Better. It took 3 of us to make her be still last night to put Neosporin on her, though. Poor baby.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Yay for Jen! Quiet MATH today. I guess Berman's on his way home. Travel safe Bermanator!

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

I just hope the Bermanater's not on a flight with too many Duke fans. Ugh.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

I'm here. Trying to upload a new site to our server. About to throw computer through window.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

I just did a little diarist.net nominating. So, can you nominate for every category, or do you have to pick?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Do you have to be registered with diarist.net to nominate people?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Nope. You just have to have a journal. Have you updated?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Um, not since Friday. I will today, though. And then I'll notify you and AB, my two most honorable readers.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Oh my MATHletes. What has happened to us? Have we become workers?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Damn, when did MATH get all legit with the work, and shit.

I am definitely working. A lot. Hopefully I'll be able to update. I'd really like to update with a story about a conversation I had with this dumb girl who keeps hanging around our office. She brought in this photo album of pictures of her with the mayor and she was all, "Oh, I LOVE Bill Campbell, blah blah" and I said, "Really? I don't really care for him. The fact that he's a wife beater sort of drew that line for me." Then the dumb fake boob girl went on and on about how good people make mistakes, and I retorted that beating your wife to the point that the neighbors call the cops on your skank mayor ass sort of crosses the line of what a "mistake" is...

And anyway, it left me all frustrated and the girl is just sad, but her presence irks me no end. If that makes sense. But I'm afraid that I couldn't really bitch about our wife-beating mayor without violating some major libel law. Because, see, I wanted to use that story to segue into an entry about the shabby state of Atlanta politics, and the filth of the King family and the way they pandering for cash with their dead father's image - Dexter King has consulted with Elvis Presley Enterprises to get tips on marketing dead public figures to your financial advantage - but I'm afraid that I'll get in trouble.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Yeah, that might not be wise. You've already said you live in Atlanta. But I think you could talk about the King thing. You just couldn't say the mayor is a wife beater, unless he has a public police record for battery.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

That's the thing. It's been expunged. It was in the papers, but it wasn't too widely reported on the local news. But Bill Campbell's going to jail soon, anyway, so no big whoop.

That's the other thing about this girl. She thinks it's the biggest thing to associate with these politicians, but she chooses the ones with the worst character. The drug users, the wife cheaters and beaters, the has-beens - and they only like her because she has humongous titties. And for some reason, she is ALWAYS lurking around our office. It's so bizarre. And she absolutely drives me crazy.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Wait, she doesn't work there? What's she doing there?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Her twin sister works here. The girl is a classic name-dropping hanger-on. She was engaged to this rich guy but then some bad stuff happened. He found out and broke the engagement off. Now she's sort fo destitute and she lives with her sister. She's sort of pathetic, actually. But she's always here and it creeps my ass out. And I know I'm not the only one who's creeped out by her. I think she figures that if she lurks around here long enough, she'll get on payroll. She talks about some consulting company she's starting - she actually wants to run campaigns! - and how she's going to run for office against a beloved state rep. She's clueless, and the men at the capitol are only amused by her and want to hop in the sack with her. It's just sad, really. And she idolizes these scum politicians just because they have decent name recognition. She probably has no grasp of who they are or what they stand for beyond what she said to them in passing.

I'm just venting, y'all. Now I feel sort of mean.

Sad, sad MATH day. Let me know if you guys are still cool with the SPC for the portal name and I'll take care of registering it, etc.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

I'm cool with it.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

This was a TH day.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Truly.

AB, how are the Sims? Is Mike still mean? Will there be any more pictures? Did you find a freak fat-ass Sim to be PigFatt?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Well, folks, I'm heading out. Have a good night.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Man. It's been a hell of a day. Emphasis on hell. You're all gone, I know, but I finally updated. It ain't too good, but I had to put something up.

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Just wanted to share how I got a search for "college skanks" today. People know where to look. Yes they do.

This Tuesday sucked.

I updated as well.
