Optimism restored

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

After three weeks of needing to be away from all things United, I can't help feeling my spirits rise. This season was always going to be difficult, we have had a bit of bad luck, and we'll be storming next season. Just watch - this has been our low ebb before we are restored to glory. By, those "optimism" tablets are canny.

Good to see you back on the bbs, Dougal. Hope things are going better for you. Think you can send a few of those optimism tablets over here? Just to get me to the end of the season. Unaided wild optimism will kick in again around mid to late July. ;-)

Good to read that you're in such excellent spirits Dougal.
While I'm not on the same happy tablets, there's nowt wrong with me that a couple of really good signings wouldn't put right - not necessarily expensive, just good!
I was drooling last night over Marcus Stewart -a kid we watched for ever while he was still at Bristol, and who I deperately wanted us to sign as he moved to Huddersfield and then sadly to Ipswich. That's the calibre and character of player we need to be buying.

Does the missus know Clarky?? Actually, I didn't notice MS until he started to hit the limelight at Huddersfield. Canny move by Burley to get him - especially as Huddersfeld were in contention for promotion at the time. Easy with hindsight for me - I guess Tre will have plenty of "Told you so" messages in future.
