Notts Forest in need of cash

If we are serious about David Prutton then this is the time to go for him. The Nottingham Forest manager David Platt has been told failure to reach the Premiership could result in a summer clear-out of players to avoid a potential £5m loss.

The former European champions have reported an operating deficit of £3.1m for the six months to the end of November. Weekly losses have subsequently risen to £105,000, a figure which must be reduced if Forest fail to get promoted.

Southampton are considering David Platt for the vacant managers job, this could speed up the departure of Prutton or conversely the new Forest manager could block any deals.
