Movies and Reality Therapy

greenspun.com : LUSENET : GLASSER Choice Theory & Reality Therapy : One Thread

I am a counseling student and I have to do a presentation on Reality Therapy. I was wondering if anyone knew of any movies with a counselor that used reality therapy so I could show that to my class. Thanks!

Even though it's not directly what you are looking for, Reality therapy ideas are strongly to the fore in the movie "Good Will Hunting"

Corina, Corina - in the beginning, Corina is demonstrating 'managing' when she allows Molly to find her on way to communicate with her when she is ready.

As Good As It Gets - overall message of the movie - relationships heal us

Good Will Hunting - in the middle, park bench scene, demonstration of 'managing', inviting, convincing and hoping they will come.

Phenomon - End of movie, Travolta with the boy on the fence. Helping him see his death in another way. Challenging him to change is perceptions.

There are lots and lots....................

Try a book too....Dr. Seuss, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"
