Good developers for APX 100 !

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I have tried Agfa APX 100 with the old Agfa 8 developer with very good results! If you have problems with APX 100, getting hard contrast those sunny days - this developer will work compensating and give you negs a lot easier to print!

Agfa 8

FILM DEVELOPER Agfa 8 Glycin, Normal Contrast

Warm Water (125 F or 52 C) - 750.0 ml Sodium Sulfite, desiccated - 12.5 grams Glycin - 2.0 grams Potassium Carbonate - 25.0 grams Add cold water to make - 1.0 liter

APX 100: 10-11 minutes at 68 F (20 C)

You can use 22,5 grams of Sodium Carbonate instead of Potassium Carbonate if you want. It works the same.

I'm now testing the Agfa 14 fine grain developer. It looks very good with APX 100 so far, but I have to find the right times. I'll keep you posted.

I will enlarge a couple of prints and scan them to show you the grain later.

Oh, it should be:

APX 100: 8½ - 9 minutes at 68 F (20 C)

10-11 min is for 200 Asa.
