OK, OK, I know it's a bit early - so early it's only yeaterday for me, but what the hell. I won't be able to partake in the pre-match build up and match discussions on the webcast but the ceremonial pre-match Bottle o' Dog has been drunk before I go to bed.I'd like you all to know that I will be doing my bit for the lads. Something drastic has to be done and I think it's time to revert to the power of prayer. To this end, I will be making a little journey - just that bit closer to Our Maker. While some of you lucky ones might get close to the Lord Bobby, I will be up in the heavens asking for help and three points.
By the time the match is over, I will be in the Land of George Best, searching dilligently for him in the bars of Manhattan. Let me tell you this - the World Trade Center is just a little bit higher than the Tyne Bridge. Please God, let's have three points today!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Mornin Screach, ?? , can easy arrange for someone to give you a shake halfway doon when the match starts ,
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Mornin' Buff. I'm awake - just. 4 hrs kip and I'm off to the aeropuerto in 15 mins. Give 'em a Screach from me!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Still no score. I think this match thread has set a record for time elapsed without a goal conceded. Things are looking up. :-)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Bliddy knackered Jonno , can someone introduce `Golden Thread` to get a result !
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
*whew* maybe Given will keep his sheets clean today.Just in case the Metro link doesn't work, here's the address of the Bradford webcast: http://www.bcb.yorks.com/bcb.ram
It's already on(130pm BST)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
This Bradford broadcast is rather interesting. Interviews with Bobby, O'Neil coming up later. The djs are just blabbering about O'Neil's sale right now. What got my attention was one of them saying they should have gotten a better deal..."Why couldn't we have gotten Des Hamilton in part exchange? he's out of contract soon, isn't he?"
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Ideal drying day in the far north Ciarra, bright sunshine, warm wind, hing oot the duvets niver mind the clean sheets.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Hmph..."O'Neil"?? This is why I shouldn't post before I'm awake. I meant O'Brien. ;-)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Hi Buff. Looks like just us today? Cloudy and rainy in Baltimore. But had my shower, made some toast and choc. milk so hopefully becoming semi-coherent.Anyone able to get the Toon webcast? I keep getting an error when I click on the link from the official s*ite.
HOWAY THE LADS! Let's get 3 points today!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Evening all from a bloody cold Tokyo. It actually snowed today! Hope we get a win and then sign Gerrard in the summer. Did you see him today? Now that's what we've been missing all season.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Hi Kegsy. What was the final result? Last I heard it was 2-0 to Liverpool. :-DIt'd be amazing if we could get Gerrard! Of course he's another one who's no stranger to the treatment room, so would fit in perfectly. ;-)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
2-0 he scored an absolute peach. Not bad for 20 years old, could quite easily become the best midfileder in the country. And no I can't get the bloody webcast
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
evening all.not sure i'll be able to stick around for much longer [in an internet cafe at the mo] but my thoughts, prayers and vocal chords are with you all...

-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
See the url for the Bradford webcast above. They're playing Liverpool highlights right now. Not the same as seeing it, but still nice to hear. :-)Onto the main event....TOON! TOON!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Afternoon all. I am only getting a kind of rumbling noise from the Webcast. Is that how commentators talk down in Bradford?

Thanks, Vatos! :-)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Keep losing our webcast. :-((Back to the Bradford one for me.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
I just noticed : we have 9 players from England, Scotland, Wales and (all) Ireland on the pitch. Must be easily the most for years.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
barry:Thats very nice to see !!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Someone being ejected from teh Toon Army end, according to the Bradford broadcast.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Damn, 1-0
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Same as usual
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
And later on if we sub Gallagher and Griffin on for Ameobi and Solano (which is feasible) we'd have something unseen since maybe the early nineties or before? When was the last time, anyone know. Oh no a goal - bring them on now!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Oh here we go.....:-((((((
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Oh fer fecks sake. GET IT TOGETHER LADS!!!!! THINK!!!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Jesus Christ - who says you never get any luck at the bottom. What does the Bradford commentary say Ciara?

Black and white Santas are in town. What did you nice Bradford boys and girls ask for? Oh...3 points. Sure, here ya go.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Kegsy, they're too busy screaming for joy.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
2 down at 15:11. We're getting stuffed (again) by a crap team (again) I'm turning the webcast off.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Did they say it was a penalty? According to Metro it was the worst decision of the season
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Fecking Speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
CITY 1 UP8 point gap and closing
what did Bobby say before the match
something about shirts and pride?
overpaid mercenaries springs to mind
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Sounds like our lads are already showing frustration. Twice we've kicked the ball away(into the net) after the whistle went. So far been lucky enough not to get booked. CONCENTRATE AND DON'T BE STUPID!!!!Great...ManCity ahead right now too. So how's Grimsby for an away day? Guess I should go start looking up directions. :-/
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
I wonder what Andy O'Brien is thinking?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
penalty or not we still managed to concede a goal within 7 minsVilla equalise
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Bradford broadcast saying it was a penalty. But they would, wouldn't they ;-)Sounds like Bradford are all over us. They're saying we're not coping well with a 3 man attack and are in disarray.
O'Brien headed over the bar from Bradford corner.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
If the scores stay the same we will still be 8 points clear with 7 games for Man City to play. Divvent fret. One win and the season wil turn again. Come on!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Something about " Out of the frying pan into the fire!"Spoilt my weekend already! Villa equalize against City.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
christ...
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
But where's that win going to come from? It's really not looking very good, is it?Geez, nearly another penalty. Not given.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
WE need 1 goal in the first half !!!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Sounds like Bradford are getting all the decisions
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Come on Solano
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
We can't rely on Solano again, remember Charlton!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Ciara - it will come at the stadium of shite.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
its not just the defeats its the performances and the fact its shite teams we have played. Our safety will depend on Man Shitty getting beat.
We wont win again this season...Boro, City Bradford.
Current form means we are the worst team in the league
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Team selection, the back 4 makes me wince , Barton (finis),Hughes(no prescence), O Brian (Weatherhall and Molenaar kept!! , ), Quinn (bad buy) , Bobby I am losing it with you, the sales , the buys. aaaghhh
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
have we had an attack as yet?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Ok let's bring Gallagher and Griffin on!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Lee, Speed and Barton need to do thier talking on the pitch now. Words are words but we need them to deliver. At least Shola seems to be feeling this performance.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
hardly a comanding back four is itand we wonder why we are conceding goals
bloody scary
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
why does Bobby persist with barton ahead of Griffin?Who conceded the 'penalty'?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Caldwell in for injured Hughes? Make Caldwell captain, at least he can shout! We just need the one goal, Bradford will panic.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
DBthey're PAST delivering. If they wanted to play for their futures, they should've started at 3pm this afternoon.
;((
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Someone must do something to end this poor run. But, honestly, what can we do?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
and George Graham got sacked at Spurs with a record ofone defeat in 13 & a cup semi final26 non clean sheets and one point from 16 AGAINST CRAP TEAMS
IF it wasnt Bobby the boss would be sacked
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
COOORT !!!!!!!!!! They are going down down !!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001

-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Come on 2-1 !
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Well let Robson decide their futures. Feckin drop them for the rest of the season. Lets see Bassedas given a run in the middle, can he really be any worse?CORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two chances one goal!!!!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Come on ladsmake me eat humble pie
Cort hat trick
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Seems Caldwell is not a sub today. GOOOOOAAALLLLLL! Cort - great buy or what. And Quinn did well it sounds too. Cort Hat Trick? We need it.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Min, I ken your in a internet cafe but dinna sing bonny lad, they do not derserve us , gotta face up to it some time
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Two quality crosses from Quinn, well done lad.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Pete, Lee conceded teh penalty
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Bradford 'cast saying Quinn putting in good crosses, and Walsh punching away rather than gathering, making them vulnerable. Now if our lads THINK and PAY ATTENTION sounds as though we should be making Bradford pay.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Apart from height, where does Griffin lose out to Barton? Gives the ball away once again. If we're not careful Griffin will look for a move and I wouldn't blame him.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Not singing buff. For once. very depressed and pissed and VERY alone. Cort goal or not. I'm the only person in this here internet cafe.I see the Beed say ALAN Quinn crossed the ball. Sad to hear about Rocky Rocastle as well. not the best player on the world but still a dreadfu waste.
;((
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Is Arron Hughes off injured?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Or even Newcastle if you've had less beer!!
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Don't be too happy!!! We are expected to pick these 3 points and we are still one goal down.

-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Pete, we need to win, and win big, this week next week and the week after that, and after that. Otherwise the youngsters will never grow in confidence. Lets hope Bobby doesn't wait till the last five minutes again. I would love to see Bassedas on at the half. A little lightwieght perhaps but at least he can pass the bliddy ball to his own teammates.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
2 long suffering footie fans, you should have plenty in common, Min. Sure she'll realize this soon enough. Don't give up.

My round folks.......large ones all round? (:o)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Stu Pearce sent off , Big Dunc misses 3 chances first 12 minutes , but they tell me a Geordie wifie won ower 4 grand last night on the Weakest Link , might sneak a draw as long as we don`t give any corners or free kicks away. A muted `Howay the Lads`

-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Boro losingHow many did the mackems put past this lot?
City three one down
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
I would bring on Bassedas behind the front two, ball on ground, split defence, Cort and Shola have the legs to beat the defence on the ground, and perhaps after all the long balls the last six months, they won't expect the through ball.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Give Galaxy a wee hint earlier but her razor sharp memory is not working today!!, With the BB`s court historian (ITK) not availible can I take advantage of a lot of my cyber-buddies on here at one time to ask Min to lead the singing of `Happy Birthday Buff`, April Fools Day, gets it over in one foul swoop, old fart that I am
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Sorry but the board of this club need shootingComplacency and dammed arrogance two months ago prevented us signing some cover. Quality cover.

Relying on others to keep us up.

Ooooohhhh!!!! Cordone is coming on. What a lovely game.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Bradford radio had an interview with Bobby before the match. He basically said O'Brien was signed cause we were desperate for cover in defence. About Marcia, he said "He's injured now, but even when he isn't we're never sure whether he'll be available for selection" (!!)
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Why on earth is he bringing him on for?Who has gone off?
Has Bobby gone mad?

shooting would be too good for him. when he looks at his fellow countrymen in the Spanish Civil War, i hope he's truly bloody ashamed. Mercenary piece of scum.
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Personally I would bribg off nobby for gallacher and Speed or Lee for Cordone and play the useless Argie as a left winger/left forward
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Have we looked like scoring in the second half?clinging at straws.....
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001

Have we now got 10 out of 11 "Home Nations" players on the pitch? I lost the webcast for a while but i just heard that Gallagher's on for Acuna. Is this a record?

is that good for Sagitarian's Galaxy?
-- Anonymous, March 31, 2001
Sounds like it's been an entertaining game, if nothing else, 4 goals, 20 corners, 26 shots on target, great saves - I heard on Bradford web, and we're creeping ever closer to 40 points. 3 minutes left.

Only if they live in the North Min! Supposed to be pretty spectacular `northern lights` display over the weekend.(:o)

2-2, better tha 0-2, but I am still not impressed. Firing squad at dawn (for that idiot Referee).

One source of comfort - we're in good company with Leeds and Arsenal who also drew here, while the poorer class of team Mackems, MUFC, etc are the ones that won. And it was better than last year. Thanks for the company - next week I'll be in the promised land, but there's no game, so I've got to wait 'til Easter Monday for the Hammers.
