Can we observe a minutes silence please.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

This may well have been discussed on this forum while I was unable to log on, but can I ask eveyone, and particularly those London Mags among us to observe a minute silence to mark the passing and demise of that favourite Central London watering hole EVERGREENS

Apparently the 'owners' have 'retired' to Fulham/Chelsea/Earls Court or some other such west London area, and they had a massive closing down party around the England/Finland game last weekend and they shut the doors late on Saturday night never to be opened again 80(

What on earth will SBA do NOW!

Personally I've only attended the place a couple of times, the last being for the abandoned Southampton game, when Bobby and I went over there to meet Pete (who wasn't) in Canada and his two jock mates, (and later Danorama) but it was a good laugh, and a great place to watch the match with so many big screens.

The Londonmags E Mail list are currently on the look out for another suitable watering hole, but it only remains to say......... R.I.P. - EVERGREENS

Heart-felt thanks to Evergreens for providing some of the most memorable pre- and post-match evenings. Thankfully, I can't post the pictures on here but I know a man who can. I also know a man who would be sh!t scared if I did!

Many many thanks to Rich and the team. You'll be missed. Now howay ITK, you've got nowt else to do these days. Get it sorted man, before we next come to Lahndaan and win.

I have to say I was only there once, loved the place, great atmosphere and for the most part great people. They must have put something in the beer though, after a dozen or so I started to feel strange. Kept banging me head on the way up the stairs to the bog as well. Thanks ITK for intoducing me to such a nice place. I did however win a fiver of one of me jock mates. When the Soton match was postponed (he wasn't paying attention) they showed the old Leicester match and I bet him Shearer would score a hat-trick in the last fifteen minutes. Of course AS did oblige. Sorry to see the place close down though.

A minutes silence is regularly and continuously observed for this sort of thing in my section of the Gallowgate on matchdays. It's enough to make a Trappist Monk suffer sensory deprivation quite frankly.

Very sorry to hear about Evergreens. Great atmosphere. I have complete faith that Susie Brown Ale will have sorted out a new venue for our next Wembley appearance. Let's face it - she's got plenty time to look, for one reason or another.

Sad news indeed. Great place and Rich always a top host. Any news of him opening a new place?
