How to split big file to make 2 vcd's

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I've succesfully made a small vcd with nero that will play in my Hitachi dvd player(dual laser system plays all cd-r). But then I took a big mpeg file (vcd compliant) split it in half with tmpgenc which made two 550mb files. After splitting the file in 2, Nero said it wasn't vcd compliant anymore. I Burned it anyway and made 2 vcd's with those files but they don't work in the DVD player. Does anyone know how to split a file in 2 and make 2 vcd's to play in a dvd player?

When you use MPEG Tools in TMPGenc to cut your big mpeg file you have to first choose MPEG-1 VCD NTSC stream or somesuch so your resulting files are VCD-compliant. The default is automatic or MPEG-1 or something and this can make your original file be split into something that's no longer compliant.

Do you think only "DUAL LASER SYSTEMs" can play cd-Rs? Admit that you love to spend money
