Where can I find this quote?

Does anyone here know where I can find this quote by EAP: "Without music, color becomes pallor, Man becomes carcass, home becomes catacomb, and the dead are, but for a moment, motionless." I think it is a personal quote by EAP. Thank you!

I would just like to thank "Dusty" for the quick response. One really shouldn't drink this early in the day. Its juveniles like you who ruin a good forum like this for the rest of us. By the way, I DID look up my butt and all I found was more sh*t like yourself.

Paul, that does sound like something Poe would write. Likely stories are "the Fall of the House of Usher" and maybe "The Masque of the Red Death." I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I don't have my Poe books with me. Good luck.

Paul,

The lines in question come from the LP 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' by The Alan Parsons Project. They do indeed sound like they ought to have been written by Poe, but (to the best of my knowledge) they were not.

Unless anyone out there knows differently ...

Thank you, Hannah and Eddie. Actually, I had heard the quote on the Alan Parsons CD "tales of Mystery and Imagination". It starts off "Fall of the House of Usher", but I couldn't find that quote in the work itself. I'll try to track down the CD pamphlet. Paul
