Why is the North American gas peak important? Richard Duncan has explained the significance quite well in the latest version of his Olduvai Theory at oilcrisis.com/duncan/olduvai2000.htm. See groups.yahoo.com/group/dieoff/message/10 for the latest update of this theory. Why is the timing of the gas peak important? Us humans like to plan ahead to some extent anyway.
What do we know so far about the timing of the gas peak? Richard Duncan moved his estimate from 2012 to 2007 back in February 2001, but new information has come to light on the energyresources list in March indicating that the peak may be sooner, ie, 2001 to 2002. Here's what we think we know about the timing as of the end of March 2001.
