ACES in the news again

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a local paper covered our quest to be on the show. The article and picture are now online at

Stay tuned for further developments.

Glad to see you're getting your 15 minutes. We're keeping a tight lid on press right now. We figure that we'll announce and do a small press junket if we go, something state/region wide the first show, and work it to larger audiences the further we go along.

Being in the media, Our fear is to burn out the local media's intrest in us before we actually hit the air. If we don't make it, we'll still do something, most likely along the lines of how we tried and will do better next year. I owe that much to the 5 station staffs (my 4 Radio and Lyn's TV) for respecting our wishes and NOT making a big deal out of us JUST YET!

Good luck to you and your team. Hope to see you in the yard!

Joey,

I felt the same as you that we didn't want to hit the press until/if we were accepted. However, the paper reporter got wind of it and wanted to do it. So, we let our other reporter contact at the T.V. station know and he did it as well. If we get accepted, it may or may not be picked up again.

See you in the junkyard!

Regardless of whether your team is accepted... that two minute news clip may encourage the kids watching to tune in to JYW.

cheers,
