I might add that I know that a person who has lived in Texas for 10 months is not considered a Texan.

Reminds me of when I lived in Montana. I had to talk to a rancher in the eastern part of the state. If you have been there you know that there are few roads, mostly not paved, and no signs. I wandered around a bit and then stopped for directions. I asked a rancher who was repairing some fence. I gave the name. He said, "oh you mean the people from Maine". He gave me directions.

I later found out that they had moved from Maine 4 generations ago, but locally, they were still from Maine.

Best Wishes,,,,

White Settlement, Lake worth...closing down the "Back Door" and everyone from the bar piling into the pickup trucks to go skinney dipping at 1 a.m. Memories. Riding my bike 2 miles to work at Carswell and home every day, going to the little bar across from the trailer park I lived in and telling the people there that I had been warned it was a redneck bar where everyone carried a gun in their boots. They all reached down and pulled out their guns and told me it was true. Bring your own bottle, buy your mixers or beer there, kids coming in to tell Mom and Dad they were hungry and to come home (Good family values there, parents still married to each other-unlike liberals whith single parents or parents that don't do things together), real mexican food, fishing off the back of the base. Samsom Park - where real Texas Redneck good ole boy fat bellied Cops will get you for having beer after hours and throw the guys in jail and let the females go so they can get the CASH to pay the "ticket" given by the Cops who pocket it while drinking the beer (while driving no less) they take from you. Yeppers good ole home week, the place I yearn to be.

Thanks for the glimpse Cherri. Makes the other stuff easier to understand.

Hit the damned enter key!

Hat's off to you Cherri. Had a feeling where you got your fiestyness and understand how your political view changed. Still, willing to argue but always with admiration and respect.

I wouldn't mind going skinney dipping with Brad Pitt any day. Love all you men.
