Dear Mike,

Does it really matter whether or not Poe did drugs?? I don't believe that he ever did, but then again I don't discount the possibility altogether. I know that he did drink heavily sometimes, from reports that I have read.

Perhaps it would be more profitable for you to read his work and enjoy it without worrying about stuff which doesn't really matter:
