Injuries

Ah, I'm back from a nice weekend in the north of Sweden with a lot of beatiful weather, women and cold beer. Thanks to all the beer I also managed to watch the whole Sweden-Macedonia game. That was one of the worst matches ever played.

Anyway, about all these injuries. First of all we are having a lot of them and that can't just be bad luck, or can it? Goma claimed that Newcastle aint trainig proberly and there might some truth in that. Robson isn't part of the new generation managers who train the players a lot more. For exampel a big part of the norweigan success came from their high amount of training. Now other countries also have realised that training is important and Norway isn't so successfull anymore.

So maybe Newcastle isn't training enough and some of the injuries come from that. I dont know, just speculating.

And also. The players can't be the ones who decide when they should return or not. Shearer shouldn't have played so early we all can agree on. No point in taking chances. So don't use Dabizas until next season, or maybe just give him some minutes in the reserves at the end of the season.

What with the Domi/Goma criticism and the problems with Shearer and Dyer, the club have taken more stick than usual over the injury problems.

The only defence has been Robson on the IC Newcastle site today and Shearer saying Dr Steadman had no complaints about his surgery and subsequent recouperation.

I'm sure IF the new training facilities get built in the summer they will have all the best treatment facilities but don't hold your breath.

Some of the injuries are due to training on frozen pitches, and having no indoor training facilities. I do believe though that our players should be putting in more than 2 or 3 hours a day. They should be working 9 - 5 not only on fitness but on set pieces and tactics.

WHen I were a lad I learn't my multiple tables by doing them over and over again until they were in my head. Te same should go for footballers. practice moves over and over again untill it comes natuarally.

Could Goma's comments regarding training, simply have been about the sub-standard facilities? It really is something that needs to be fixed up.
