Spot Welding Gun Cylinder calculations

I am trying to obtain a database or spreadsheet for calculating spot welding cylinder sizes against arm length and tip pressure, could anybody help?

If it were a direct ratio, there would be no problem. Due to the designs offered by various manufacturers, the actual leverage advantages vary tremendously. Therefore, there is not a general rule or spread sheet covering all possibilities. We could possibly help, when you have more design specifics.

Gareth,

As Bob mentions, there is not a set chart you can use because of the differing arm lengths and pivot points. Below is a link to a PDF file that may help you understand the math involved in making this calculation.

I hope it helps!
