LOL, Meemur, I know it doesn't! And I'm not having any luck deleting it or editing it, either. Dunno know why, either. Very weird.

Response to Absolutely Indispensable Links

Hey, glad you liked it, Sql Grl. . . I found that several years ago and it remains my favorite "all in one" link page.

BTW. . . There are a couple of us who have "Brooke" or a spelling variation thereof in our names. . .interesting, eh? I am "Brooke", a.k.a. "Hilltop Duchess" or "Wilferd". . .not to be confused with "Brooks".

Now, is that perfectly clear as mud?

Brooke,

Oooops, sorry 'bout that! You're "Wilferd"? Shows you how behind I am in my reading! Boy, have I got some catching up to do. Nice to see you here. I don't know exactly what it is that I'm feeling, but I really like the feel of this place. Clean, maybe?

I've been using Yahoo as my main start site, cause it alows me to add personal links to all of my other "homepages" (grin) (you know, like Passport, ivillage, etc., etc., ad infinitum! Have them all interlinked. Looking forward to exploring Hot Sheet, to see if it'll be handier than Yahoo.

SqrlGrl....

have you thought about composing your own "startup.htm"?

just a simple basic htm document that you can "choose" in your browser to be your home page

really easy to set up, and that way you wouldn't have to deal with the ads (that i think are part of the yahoo setup.....i've never used the yahoo one, so i'm only guessing that you have to go thru them and see the ads)

mine is just a white page with links for all of the places i go most often

fiatlux,

don`t know if Sqrl Grl is interested, but i am! can you point me to a place to learn how to do a startup page like that? if it isn`t too difficult, maybe just give us the pointers here>

thanks

mutter :)

Gee, usually folks can't tell me apart from my cyber twin, Brock...

Evenin' fiatlux,

Not quite sure what you mean. I do html, and have done several sites, but at the moment only have 2 left, and they're both in "Virtual" community type places. I'm on an independent server, and had a dot.com for quite a few years, but let it go about 3 months ago. Is there a way to set up this single sheet info page without opening up my homepage account again? Suggestions. please?

I'm not entirely happy with having my bookmarks up on a public site, even with the password protection. Yahoo (and others) still have access to my stuff, some of which is fairly radical.

Thanks!

mutter and sqrl....

i put up (over on CurrentsEZ, in the welcome forum) the html that i use for my startup.htm

i tried to post it in a separate thread using the html function turned on so you could see what it looks like, but it would not format correctly (guess it has something to do with how ezboard handles it)

i posted the raw html on one thread, and then put the "instructions" on how to use it on another thread

squrl.....it's not something that you have to upload to the net.....it just sits on your machine

as i posted over there, if you've got any questions about it....just ask!

if i can't help you to understand it....i'm sure carl can help you out....he's a whiz with html stuff

fiatlux,

Just sits on my machine... now that I like! On my way to check it out.

Thank you for taking the time to help us out with this.
