Cantonese and Mandarin at the same time

I rented some Hong Kong VCDs but when I play them, the vcd works but cantonese and mandarin is spoken at the same time. How do I make it so that it only speaks cantonese? Please answer this!

change the channel left mono vs. right mono speaker... don't use stereo mode!!! cantonese couldbe either side. depends on manufacturer

I'm kind of new to this, so I'm still on a big learning curve. I view the VCDs on my computer and nothing is an exact science. My interest is in Hong Kong movies.

I've found that for Windows Media Player 7, its necessary to download the freeware Quick VCD Player 3 in order to get Windows Media Player to play mono. Quick VCD Player doesn't have as good a view. But its audio controls will also work to change Windows Media Player. So I view through WMP.

I've found that sometimes I have to use my DVD player to view the movie. One that I use is ATI DVD Player. To get rid of the dual language bleed, I open the Windows VOLUME controls (Accessories) and move the WAV balance to the desired language (left or right). That makes things easier!
