I am posting this link in response to Kathies recent post regarding her friends problem of not knowing a local kid was a registered sex offender.The url www.crime.com has a listing of these people,by state. It takes a bit of searching around after you get to the site.look for sex offenders (of course).It's near the bottom of page one.Hope none of you find your mother-in-law there.

Now if we can only get the sex offenders that haven't regersterd yet to kindly do so . To bad it only list the ones that were prosecuted,which I imagine is around 1%.Most sex offenders never get caught.Even with proof from victoms it's hard to get them arrested,even harder to get them jailed.Usually the only thing prison can teach them is to be more careful not to get caught again ,when they get out.

Here in South Dakota a person can go to their local law enforcement and request to see the registered sex offender list. I am not sure what the law is in other states but it would only cost a phone call to find out.
