NUFC crashes to Earth

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

After a number of years in orbit, the NUFC spacestation has finally been brought safely back to Earth and crashed near the foot of the Premiership. This craft was launched in a blaze of glory some years ago but started to show signs of mechanical difficulty due to lack of spare parts and despite Scottish and Dutch engineering missions sent to repair it, was unable to remain above the stratosphere.

Mission controller Hall came down from cloud 9 and commented last night that ( - give it a rest - that's quite enough of this sort of nonsense Jonno - Ed )

(And we don't need any stories about the Stock Market Crash either thankyou)

Despite occasionally looking as though it could carry on the orbit has been getting lower and lower over each of the last few years. The introduction of foriegn astronauts to try and man some successful missions has proved a particularly fruitless exercise. The French contingent in particular have always struggled to last a full mission before wanting to go home, or to NASA.

LOL guys! I really thought Galaxy might have come along and said something though, following the launch of this thread. I'd have been over the moon. I expect she's spaced out somewhere.

A "Mir phase" - you're a star Clarky! :-)
