What's the haps, peeps?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Not a whole lot going on here. Working, is about it. I need to take the Golf in for a wash today since a very nice lady might want to buy it tomorrow.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

bye, bye Golf.

I finally feel so much better. Well, not SO much, but better.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Y'all. I HAVE to update today. I guess I'll write some stuff about the bands and films from sxsw, but if I don't do it soon, it'll be old news.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

By the way, Mike has a hoops chat today at 3. Send him a question - because, you know, I'm sure no one has any basketball questions right now, or anything. Hee!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I need to update, too.

I hope it's bye bye Golf. That cash would be real nice.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I still haven't updated about Spain yet. I wrote something yesterday, but couldn't get online because of my stupid, stupid old phone line that is only unstaticy for like 5 mintues a day. From 3-3:05.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Well, you would just put it right toward your car loan, right?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Yep, either my car loan or I'd completely pay off my credit cards, would be really nice. I wouldn't mind having a slightly higher car loan if I didn't have to make any credit card payments.

Y'all, my secretary went to get us our breakfast Diet Cokes... and she has not returned... I am about to get up and start pacing...

I have GOT to get off of that shit again. I can't go two hours without having one, and it makes my skin look awful and gives me cellulite. But I am literally addicted to it. Maybe I'll work the 12 steps to give it up... I wonder if that would work... maybe I can do it for french fries, too.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

You know... I have not gotten an e-mail, from ANYONE, in more than 10 minutes. Blessed silence. It's not my birthday, so no one is planning me a surprise party... so... hmm... what could be going on?

For once, I feel out of the loop! I'm free! Free, I tell you!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'm oot for a minute. I'll be back.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

You know, my mom's recipe column for the Birminghamster... the more I think about it, the angrier I get. I think my friend Dan asked her to do it because he thought it would be funny - but I'm beginning to realize that he'd rather laugh at her than with her and it pisses me off, big time.

I edited that last thing she sent in about the MOC Tasties, or whatever, and all I did was clean up the punctuation and get the facts straight. They didn't use my edits, and it makes me furious. Why would they want it to be bad? She's not nearly as clever when she's trying to be, and that was the only problem. Anyway. I'm pissed off.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Wow - I didn't get that from reading it, but maybe I'm not reading enough into it.

Hmm.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Why would they ask you to edit it if they weren't going to use your edit?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Al - have you updated?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I haven't updated. I'm going to force myself to do it this afternoon.

I just think they didn't use my edits because they don't want my mom to seem smart, which she is. They only showed it to me in advance to get my blessing on it, because it was about me - and I said I don't mind if you print it, if you print the attached with these few minor edits.

Blah. I don't care. I finally remembered to tell Chris about it today, and he loved it.

Tell me something good, y'all. I'm slightly foul today.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

How about the fact that I definitely don't hate your daddy with those aviator glasses. And I love how your mom made something with sausage and ricotta for the MOC

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Ooh, there's lots of good things. Let me think a minute.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Man, that picture is so hilarious. It was clearly taken in like, 1984. Not only is my dad wearing aviators, but they are all crooked and broken.

You know... that really was 1984. We were on vacation in Cancun. I think I even took the picture.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Okay, here's a good thing. I thought I maybe was pregnant, but I'm not. Yay!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Oh, thank God. I thought I was, last month.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I've never been late before, ever. And I was worried that with Spain, and the time change, and everything else, that something may have gotten lost in the shuffle. But, all is well.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Where's AB?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Probably chilling with Mad Mad, who is out of school this week, I think.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Did y'all ask Mike a question? When is MM over?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I didn't ask a question yet. I'm not sure what's going on. I know Maryland's ok, and I guess that's all that matters. I was following GA State, but Maryland beat them, so my interest has sort of waned.

I don't know yet if Chris has realized that he'll be on a plane during the game tomorrow night. He has to go to Philadelphia. Or Pittsburgh. Somewhere like that. Up north.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

You guys, I just the TheAtlantic.com is badass. Their food site is awesome, the fiction is excellent and my favorite section, Atlantic Abroad is the bomb. You know, either of you could write up something about your trip to Spain and submit it there, or to Salon. If I ever went anywhere at ALL, that's what I'd do.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I left out the word "think" there in the first sentence.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Man, I really need to update. And I need to move over my archives. I think that's Saturday's project. blah.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Greeeeeeeenspuuuuun!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'm around, girls. Mad Madeleine and I have been outside for two days, showing off our mad gardening skillz.

We're about to go to Lowe's and get more plants, and soapmaking supplies, and a kite, and other fun outdoor prizes.

I need to update. I think I shall sit outside with my ibook, and wear sunglasses and drink iced tea and look cool.

Miss y'all! I'll be back latah.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'm in, y'all. And count me among the chorus of those who need to update. Like, today. I don't know what I'm writing about, but I'll have a new entry even if it's 20 minutes of me talking about ducks.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Oh, also. Meg's online.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Say, what what?? Where?!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

On AIM. Anybody want me to talk to her? Hee.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Gaah! Where?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Oh, AB, you HAVE to. What's her name? I have AIM, too. I'll talk to her.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Her username is meghlcl. I totally want to instant message her, but I don't know what to say!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

AB - this is your zen moment.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Damn, she signed off! Well, I think she'll get back online. She was on for a minute before, too.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Okay, I set the AIM to alert me when she's back on.

Oooh, I hope she updates. It's been more than a month. I guess she's still in morning for her dead rat.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'll have a new entry even if it's 20 minutes of me talking about ducks.

I'd certainly like to read that!

Ack! I'm missing the Berman chat. I couldn't think of a question, and I didn't even notice that it's past time and it already started.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

you know, Meg could've started a new journal under a new name. it was my impression that human wonderful wasn't her first one

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

See, I've been trying geocities/meghanm, geocities/sirphoenix, all that stuff. Nothing.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Damn, Sarah Harmer is going to Indy and Pitts in April, but not here. Sad, sad, sad.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I might write about techno music instead of ducks. We'll see.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I, personally, would like to see you work both techno music and ducks into the same entry.

Meg, sign back on! Mayn!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

How was the chat?

If AB sent me the dreamweaver crack in zip format, and I downloaded and it and saved it to my desktop like that, then what do I do?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

AB thinks there might be a document with the suffix .nco? Open that with notepad, and it should give you instructions.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Sorry, I thought you'd left!

I don't have to "unzip" it or anything?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

You can unzip it if you want, but I think you can open the instruction file without unzipping it. Just doubleclick it. The file should tell you where to unzip everything else.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

It would be easier to combine techno music and hamsters. I could talk about that infernal hamster dance song.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

hopefully that will all go fairly painlessly and I can update today for the first time in 20 days.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I might update one day real soon. My friend Jody just got engaged. I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with her. She wants me to make crawfish fettuccini for 300 people.

Mike, Chris is real excited about your dollar values. He just emailed you, I think.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

They are soooooooooo hard to do. It's like calculus all over again. Or econ. Actually, econ's the better analogy, because it's a whole separate language and sometimes makes no sense.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Well, I know he's appreciative, Mike. Plus, he's excited that he can dip on Saturday.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I have to go work out before my shift starts ... can you tell Chris I'll answer him as soon as I get back?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Is anyone still here? I'm losing my mind. I know there's a way to send someone something on amazon.com if you don't know their address, but they do have a wishlist. I mean, Hannah sent me Grin & Ferret before we even knew each other, and that wasn't on my list, but she was able to send it. How do you do that?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'm here. Mad Madeleine's nap-napping.

Al, can't you just click "Send to So-and-so"? I don't think it tells you their address, but it will send it to them.

And, really, if you're sending me that Handspring, you can just bring it over in person, you know.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I'm back. Rick Pitino took the Louisville job, if y'all care.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I instant messaged Meg. She won't respond. Mayn! She must be either scared, or really mean.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Probably the former. Everyone's scared of Anna Beth, yo.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

I tell her I be nice, though!

Oh well, she signed off. I guess Meg is no more.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Hey. I updated. It's sort of shoddy. I've got to get bettah!

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

It's good, Al! Did you get my e-mail?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

It's excellent as always.

Man. I'm so blah today. This entry will be awwwwwwwffffuuuuuuulllllll.

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Mike, anything you do featuring techno music and ducks, or whatever animal that was, will NOT be awful.

I'm trying to figure out why my entry shifts over to the left when Al looks at it. Does it do that to you?
