Hello all: frankly

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I'm too depressed about the Toon and mystified about what precisely is going wrong to add anything to the debate threads. However, hope you are all well and having as much fun as a life supporting United can possibly afford you.

What happened to you last night?

Too many players know they will be replaced so they can't be bothered and won't even explain themselves to the press because they'll just be lying.

Shearer said something a few months ago which eluded to the very real possibility that a few players will be signed in the summer. If he knows that, how many other players know it? I've given up on this season, no point in expecting them to do anything.

Top 'o the morning to you Dougal - hope you're feeling well, or at least better.

There's an old football saying - "you're never quite as good as you think you are, and never quite as bad either".

The simple priority is to secure the 4 points needed to ward off the dreaded "R" word, and put an end to this abysmal season.
Then we need to begin a serious rebuilding of the playing squad to start moving forward again. Hopfully, we'll see that happening, and can begin what is actually the essential process of rebuilding the confidence of the supporters.

I'm also expecting to hear positive news about the building of both the Youth Academy and the much- promised Training Facilities. If not, I intend moving into full "pestering mode" that will see me become a real bloody nuisance.

There you are you feel much better now, don't you? I see there is a lurd of snow forcast for this afternoon! Whoooooops. ;-{)

Come on Clarky - there's no point in asking for trouble is there? :-)

It was lovely to see you on Saturday Dougal. I wouldn't have gone if you hadn't phoned and I'm glad I made the effort. Can't help thinking though that we should all get together on a non-match day to prevent that sinking feeling in the middle of our socialising!

Sorry first part of last message should say :-

hope you are all well and having as much fun as a life supporting United can possibly afford you.

I'm sure that's gone down well with LR. I'd have hoped you'd wish the rest of us a bit more than that! :-)

It was lovely to see you, too, Jonno, pet. It was lovely to see Bill, Steph, Pit Bill, Softie, Mrs Softie and the scrumptious baby Softie. Shame the football got in the way.

and the scrumptious baby Softie

Crikey Dougal - you haven't taken to eating bairns have you? I heard things were rough on Derwentside but hadn't realised they'd reached such proportions. Has the NotW been told?
