Entourage in London

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

A snippet from NUFC.com which reckons that an entourage is London bound for transfer negotiations.

Messrs Shepherd ,Shearer & entourage reportedly flying to down from Newcastle to London today- reason unknown, speculation rife about it being connected to a signing - rumour courtesy of London Mags mailing list.

Linking this to another thread. Why is Shearer going if this story is true? Education beginning or simply there as a carrot to the incoming player i.e. You could play next to Shearer, presumably in the ping pong room as he returns from another injury.

Anyone on the London Mags mailing list?

Bergkamp doesn't want to fly, Arsenal are insisting he does, so we're interested cos we can guaratntee no European football next season

If it's a foreign player (esp French) the negotiations should be in Newcastle so he can see what he is letting himself in for.

Just reassure me someone that it's not that crook George Graham we're talking too. I think Sol Campbell (fellow England colleague of Al's) is free on a Bosman this summer. Just a thought - any other wild ideas?

mac, you're a bloody card!

Haven't heard from Tre recently. Perhaps he's in London too, helping the negotiations with Clinton Morrison. His recent high-profile air shot must have impressed the powers that be.

Well we've got two top goalkeepers so I reckon they're trying to sign another :-((

Hmmm, will be interesting to see if YBR is at the resorves tonight.

need an established midfield holding type player, must be Denis Wise he would fir in perfectly at the moment

Jason Euell?

Left winger or Striker.

IF it has got to the stage where the "Entourage" are talking to a player then the club must be ready to sell. Mmmmm!

I can only think it is a signing from a Nationwide club with no hope of a play off place, whoooopee.

With Shearer also going it leads me to believe that it is a high-profile player. After all he has been used in these situations recently. The last one being Carl Cort I think?

Or could we be off to Craven Cottage to talk Clarky into returning to the NE?

Sol Campbell would be the one I'd prefer tho'. Then again, as long as it's not another French player I don't mind...

..............or we could be selling Big Al???

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Selling Shearer ha ha!!!!

I' ove to see us sign Campbell but it isn't really going to happen is it, he's got the pick of every club in Europe almost. Certainly Britain and no-one in their right mind is going to choose us.

Shearer wouldn't need to go down to impress Clarky.

It's a set up.

"Freddie Shepherd you though you were here to sign Thierry Henry from Arsenal for £10m, but no tonight Freddie Shepherd - This is Your Life".

10 minute programme with all his friends on.

Sorry to POTB but they were seen in the ideal homes exhibition;-)

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Ideal homes? Perhaps they are going to sign a new sweeper?

Solid foundations next year?

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

They've gone for a piss-up, then crashing out at Shearer's London pad.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

"This Is Your Life"? More likely to be "The Weakest Link"!

Interesting that AS is part of "the entourage". Unless we're selling him, this could a tangible sign that he is set to become Assistant to BR at the end of the season. That should cheer everyone up!

Well, it would certainly be better than Wadsworth, if that's what you mean, Clarky.

Have to take comfort in small things these days I guess. S'what my missus tells me anyway.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

If Wadsworth takes over Dr. Bill then I'm afraid the shotgun definitely comes out of the cabinet. A man can only take so much!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

While you have it out, Clarky, could I get you to do a similar job on a Mr. G. (don't call me junior!) Bush. ;-)

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Clarky - put it away at once. And don't let it anywhere near that bush.....................or Aah'll tell yer missus!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I'm with clarky! Using the shotgun on Wadsworth will make you popular with millions!!

Remember how Andersson said he signed for us because it was amazing to have Alan Shearer at the other side of the table?

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Yes Softie I do remember that and it's scary....I also wonder just how much say Shearer has in helping select striking partners....

I've no confidence that the management could buy a decent player, they're fucking useless....

-- Anonymous, March 21, 2001

Well, well - that's about the only thing Alan Shearer hasn't been accused of so far!
